Cambridge Away Day
« on: April 21, 2009, 11:49:48 PM »

Are we having a 'theme' on Sunday? Nothing like fancy dress or jester hats (no-one wants to demean themselves), but what about everyone takes a beach ball. The one at wrexham caused a great deal of amusement, so what would over hundred do?

What pub(s) are we meeting in?

I'm working Sunday so won't be able to go. Gutted as I was really looking forward to giving the lads a good send-off before the summer break.

I was thinking about going up on the train from London around 11am, then going to a pub in the city centre for a couple. I heard the anchor (on the river) is good on a sunny day. Does anyone else want to meet up there? It's on silver street, by the river.

Unfortunately i seem to have run out of money so i won't be going, but am i the only one who thinks this is a bit like gatecrashing someone elses party? I think Cambridge will be desperate to win and hope Burton loose to confirm my theory that Roy MacFarland is the worst manager since Tommy Docherty.

It's going to be a grand day out at for my money the best drinking town in our division. Lets spoil their party a la Kiddy and Wycombe back in the mid 90s.

The Anchor is a bit of a foody/gastro style pub and only serves Greene King IPA/Abbot. It fancies itself a bit too so I doubt a contingent of football fans would be all that welcome.
