Enter the cavalry - so far as I know you are correct, squire - one goal from the late Bert Lister and one own goal. By coincidence the last time we played Tranmere Reserves was a Senior Cup semi-final at Moss Lane on Monday March 23rd 1970 which we won 4-1, two goals from Mick Walker, one from the late Johnny Worth & one own goal; the game was switched to Moss Lane, I think because bad weather had made Prenton Park unplayable on the original date. Crowd 1482.

I went to Prenton Park with a couple of mates from uni in 2011 to watch Tranmere V Wolves in the Fa Cup 3rd round. It should havr been the culminating part of a three day footy and beer fest, but our plan to watch Alty V Wrexham was killed by the ice (Time for a winter break?) so we just ended up at Everton V Carlisle on the Saturday and Tranmere on the sunday. An absolute belter of a chippy just up the road and a decent away end. The John King stand is on the left as you look from the away end.
