I know some of you feel that this is an old chesnut. But if we are to progress the Board have to start to compete for good players. They have to offer some sort of contract to key players even if it only restricts them from goign to lower or teams at the same level. I have no objection to releasing selling players to teams in higher divisions. OK there are always ups and downs and we will get some contracts wrong, but surely we have to take that risk on key players if we are to build for the future?

Come on Alty Board commit to building the club on the field!!!

The problem comes when you back a manager to offer contracts, then he hands them out to the likes of Twiss. Or when the only way you can attract really promising talent is by not tying them down.

It's very difficult for a club like us.

I wish people would get over the Twiss situation, OK this has not worked out. we have done really well in the past with contracted players and made money. More important how else can we keep our good players and build a strong team or at least make some money???

You dont believe me, find out for yourself, we have one of the smallest bedgets in this league, not going to blurt out what it is but i do know!

And Adam Griffin, well so he tells me, he came to Hyde as a fill in club until he found a new one, but has ended up staying because he likes it at Hyde, all i'll say is he is on just about a 3 figure sum!

If it's 3 figures per week that could be £100.00-£999.... So effectively anywhere between 4k and 40k (If they only pay 40 weeks)

He said "just about" three figures..........so that to me means £105, £110.........how do you interpret that this could be £999 ?

How many figures are there in 100.....................................................how many in 999?

Is it like the question "what weighs more, a tonne of lead or a tonne of feathers?

"just about" could also mean 999....coz it is only "just about" still in 3 figures.....yours taking the argument far too literally to ludicrously pedantic lengths  ;D

More than likely someone's had a friendly word

If it was all over our website about us going in for players here and there I'd think it unprofessional. Always remember the Gareth Whalley post being moved off here..

Actually I think they put some of the news from that day in one article:

http://www.hydefc.co.uk/2012/01/ryan-crowther-rejoins-hyde-on-loan/#more-1056

It's more of a footnote there though.

Damn, its annoying when the facts get in way of a good conspiracy theory.

Good spot by young Alex, though.
