This verdict courtesy of a Nuneaton supporter on the BS North Forum:

"Don't think any sensible Alty fan would have complained if that had have been 4-1 to be honest. We got thrashed the other night, today we pretty much dominated apart from a few small moments.

Missed 6 clear chances first half before Glover bundled in. Think in that time Alty had one chance flash wide.

Second half, we started bright and Forsdick scored a good right footed drive across the keeper and we continued to press for more.

They looked to get back into it, and scored a goal on the break, with our keeper getting injured in the process.

From then on, we again had further chances, but failed to make clear chances or goalmouth scrambles count, and Alty could have snatched an, IMO, undeserved equaliser when Collett tipped over spectacularly.

Coburn is still quality, one incredible save from Glover's overhead kick, destined for the top corner and the old T**t still tipped over.

Really good day for us- seemed lots of backing from the fans, lots of togetherness, and lots of passion which was great after a week from hell really. We got thrashed Tuesday, have had these points deducted, had Mark Noon(captain) and Wes York(star player really) out injured today and rumoured to be for the season, keeper hobbling, players on the bench not fit, players recalled from loan spells, and produced the goods. Proper proud of the lads to use a Jonny T ism!"

And still we couldn't take anything from the game FFS >:(

Season now well and truly gone. Pathetic league position and 2 cup exits at first hurdle against lower league teams. >:(

Sinnott's vow to put a smile on the fans faces seems to havebackfired somehow. >:(

If you had to mark the side today, you'd give them all probably 6 and give Stu 8. Wasn't a terrible performance, but no-one rose to the occasion, and that is what we needed today. But the frustration of being up and around the fringes of the play-offs for the majority of the season, only to blow it when we have a chance to get in them by not turning, reached the limit for a lot of people today. I'm actually feeling more annoyed now than I was at previous games where we've bottled it, like Forest Green.

Knowing us now, we will take 7 points from Hyde,Guiseley and Halifax to put ourselves back in it, to then lose at Eastwood to kill off any hope.

I think we blew it by only picking up only 2 points of 18 on offer against poor sides - Bishop Stortford, Gloucester and Solihull.

Agree with Nasha now that I have mellowed after the game. It wasnt an horrendous performance, Nuneaton were clearly fired up following the points deduction. However I disagree with the guy who posted on the BSN forum, they didnt really seem to get behind them until it was 2-0.

Matt Flynn continues to impress at centre back, but for me it was between Stu and Phelan for MOM. I wish that McGivern would stop looking for the foul all the time when he gets the ball, and then sulking and moaning if he doesnt. Richman had a poor first half, but looked more effective when moved central in the second half. The moment that summed the match up for me was when at 2-1 Nuneaton broke on us and Densmore busted his lungs to get back. When he did get back and won possession, he completely miss kicked the ball.

It might be slightly controversial, but Im not convinced by their keepers injury - it almost seemed like a cynical attempt to avoid punishment for what appeared to be a two footed lunge on Phelan in the build up to the goal. Im not sure that a keeper that badly hurt would have made the wonder save from Phelans screamer.
