Does anyone know the dates and fixture schedule of the playoffs?

Or is it TBA?

Final is TBC as it is last day of Premiership season that day! Might end up being Saturday 12th!

And in a case of well and truly getting ahead of ourselves, that's the Alty FC beer festival weekend with the showpiece on the Sunday.

It's a shame it isn't at a neutral venue, even a decent L1 ground like Huddersfield. Guess the date is one reason why.

It was at Burton for a few years but they stopped that for some reason.

IF we got in the play offs and then somehow in to the actual final playing away wouldn't bother me anyway. The fanatical home support at the likes of Guiseley and Stalybridge hardly need intimidate us. Halifax admittedly would be a different matter...

It's ridiculous not to be at a neutral venue.

Although I'd prefer a neutral venue I can definitely see where the Conference are coming from. Unless it's at Wembley then no one's going to pick up the local paper and think "local team's gotten to the play off final, I'll just drive miles and miles to take the kids to that".

The last and only time we were involved in play-offs the the first two games were aay at the higher placed club with the final being at a neutral venue (one more game of course then because it was a north/south final). Now the first game is home and away with the final being at the higher placed club. Doesn't seem logical to me.

That seems highly logical to me...

In 2005 it was Semi Final (highest place club gets home advantage) North Final (highest place team get advantages) north south final

In 2012 its Semi Final (lower place team at home) Semi Final (higher place team at home because playing away first leg and hone leg it's considered an advantage), Final (playing at hone is a slight advrabge + saves money)

It should be at a neutral ground, somewhere like the Galpharm or Chesterfields new ground would  be an ideal place to hold a conference north playoff final. Fairly central, modern ground, big but not massive.

Out of interest, supposing we somehow got to the final and it was at say, Halifax or guisely, how many do you think we would likely to take. I think we could muster 2,000 or so fans.

I don't think the Eastbourne fans thought Stoke was a particularly neutral venue, we must have outnumbered them almost 3-1 that day.

I think 2000 or a little bit less is about right, that's roughly what we took to Stoke. Also I assume it would be all ticket, so if say it was Guiseley, their capacity can't be more than 4000 or something so we might not get more than 1500 tickets anyway. All academic anyway.

We could not get 2000 fans at home when we had to beat Eastbourne or Aldershot to stay up, so I really cannot see anything like that travelling away.......if I had to guess, we would take 900
