Altrincham FC First Team / Re: FA Cup revamp

The idea of giving a champions league berth to the winners is a good one, as it makes mid table premier league teams start taking it more seriously.

Rest of the ideas clearly pulled out of someone's arse.

Isn't there a system of letting United take your ticket for the one game and sell it to someone else and refunding you the money. Or did I make that up?

Can you explain how an oval is the same as being round? And surely cross sections of stuff dont count? Because a football is nowhere near round?

I'm presuming he means its homeomorphic to a circle (in whatever dimension) rather than being a circle itself (whoever said maths degrees are useless)?  :P

I bet Sir Alex would have still bloody moaned at the ref for not adding on the extras  ;)

Graham Poll said that on Fergie's ten year anniversary of being United manager he said to him he should have bought him a watch.
Fergie just said "Funny coz I was  going to buy you a mickey mouse watch"

What is round and used at moss lane? Apart from the ball (just to make this thread even more pedantic :D)

Jody Banim's signed?

I have no idea what the break even figure is to hold one of these games bearing in mind the "gate" is split but I'd be surprised if we don't make a loss each time. My possible solution would be to introduce a loyalty scheme for fans whereby you get a points tally for attending games, yes I know it requires technology and admin. Points could be collected and redeemed on merchandise or free entry. Games like these could be rated with a much higher points tally than the more attractive fixtures therefore giving an incentive.

Surely they deduct costs of holding the game before spiting the gate?

And the points system is a good idea, though you could always just print a coupon in the program rather than keeping a record of everyone.

7-0 wasters and you were lucky we took our foot off the gas now f**k off, and support a decent club like Northwich!!!

Yawwwwwn!

There are some things money can't buy.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Class is one, wit is clearly another.

genuine question.  What does "trolled" mean?

Defending a stupid point of view just to rile people.

Only athletics is really like that, great footbaling brains are still required for football.

The Weymouth relegation game is a candidate for both, still proud of the singing drummed up by the many fans who made the trip, but the feeling at the end cancelled it out rather well.
