Evening all, could be a laugh with this Dons stadium thingy to play with as well!
-
www.wdon.com
-
That looks like 3-5-2 to me. Good stuff, much prefer Shaun and Buzz in that system.
Come on Alty.
-
No sub keeper?
This commentary is embarassing!
-
A few of us in the Stadium now, TV on for City Vs Utd, mobile by side to send Daisy scores (she's at Notts C vs FGR, hoping for 4-1 to Notts), headphones on for commentary! Such technology these days.
-
five commentators!
-
the same as you bogman except mrs apple not watching the utd city game
-
I thought Saturdays commentary was bizzare.
-
No sub keeper?
This commentary is embarassing!
Who would you suggest for sub keeper?
-

-
Its like Only Fools and Horses live...jesus wept.
-
are these comedians watching the match or just reminising about times gone by ?
-
have to feel for all of the 196 listeners
-
FFS. They might as well go to the nearest pub and prattle on.
-
I dont know how much Wimbledon fans contribute towards this service but I bet even they would like some commentary from a match commentary website.
-
This will be one of them commentaries where we score and they don;t notice..."ohh..and Altrincham have scored..not sure who but that has crept in...has it John? It has..."
-
What an absolute bunch of kn**heads...........I am seriously close to turning off......no commentary whatsoever, just some clowns chatting who actually think they are funny
-
"My other in law has OCD"...WTF!? This is supposed to be football commentary.
-
worth going in the virtual stadium
-
Tell them to pass Gunners11 the mike...........must be better than this
Alternatively, just leave the mike on the advertising hoarding in front of Hughesy.....now that's entertainment
-
The virtual stadium is basically 4 blokes talking complete b*llocks, with the odd reference to the fact that there's a game on!
-
great comment whoever arthur is.

if you've ever watched the live text from the croicket in South Africa, these guys are in the same mold as most folk that text the bbc for cricket!
-
Bring back Alan Green !!
-
Im off to stream Hamilton v Rangers
-
"You can text the team on 07506 386 586 or email wdon@wimbledonstadium.com"
I suggest a text avalanche. Might not get commentary but we could try pissing them off.
I haven't heard an Altrincham player's name mentioned yet.
-
at lesast there appears to be even less action at Notts C vs FGR

MATCH UPDATES:
1 mins: Alty kick off
2 mins: Young header cleared of line
7 mins: 0-0 no more chances
11 mins: Alty better side so far. Wimbledon freekick from 22 yards well over
17 mins: Fairly uneventful 0-0
23 mins: Young off field with head being bandaged
-
spot on, can't you email it to them?
-
Sent this in..............."any chance of a mention or haven't we touched the ball yet?"
-
28 mins: Still 0-0 - Young playing on
-
33 mins: AFC pressing but making mistakes and Alty defending solidly
-
1 down
-
:'(
-
Commentators think AFC keeper Brown should have just been sent off
-
40 mins: Willards puts AFC ahead from outside box after midfielder got past Kearney to fed the scorer
-
It'll have to be 2-1 to us then rather than 1-0 won't it?
-
Have been listening for 15mins now and only heard Youngs name mentioned once.
They should have had a man sent off!
-
It'll have to be 2-1 to us then rather than 1-0 won't it?
;D
-
even the commentators say keeper should have been sent off
-
43 mins: Keeper Brown takes out Senior 40 yards from goal - shown a yellow card only
-
HT 1-0 :(
-
Not all doom and gloom ;) ;) ;)
-
HT: 1-0 but AFC fortunate both to be ahead and to have eleven men on pitch after keeper took out Senior 40 yards from goal but was not dismissed presumably because a defender had got back but arguably the offence itself merits a straight red.
-
Our next opponents :
H/T Workington 1 - 0 Rushden
-

Always struggled with this. If a keeper takes out a forward surely there have to be two defenders behind him to avoid the straight red. If you are the last defender there is usually still a keeper to beat but it's still red. So the keeper has one defender behind him that just replaces the keeper and off he goes...no?
-
Perhaps I'm being cynical or maybe have a persecution complex but I think if Saunders had taken down Main or Kedwell in a similar situation he'd have been off.
-
By the way, shouldn't we be equalising in the next few minutes? ::)
-
2-0
Got to make sure we don't get any reds now..
-
Oh dear, that injustice in the first half might really hurt. Come on Alty lets get this back!
-
By the way, shouldn't we be equalising in the next few minutes? ::)
I'll shut my big mouth/fingers from now on! >:(
-
49 mins: Main makes it 2-0 as the Alty defence parts too easily
-
Game over now :( :( :(
-
2054: Goalflash Notts County 1-0 Forest Green (Hunt)
-
i want the blues to beat a team in red and a team in red to beat a team in blue.its not happening as it should.
-
Commentary now off
My heart says we can still get them back to Moss Lane.........my mind says have a shave and get up to the Orange Tree and Market as is the usual Tuesday pastime
-
Right as I doubt there's gonna be a replay can one of the postponed fixtures be played this Tuesday?
-
Sad news that rugby commentator Bill McLaren has died. I was at his home town rugby lub the other day where he was a muh loved and respected figure.
-
55 mins: Alty have two half chances but still 2-0
56 mins: Clee on for Doughty and Little for Kearney
-
that 'll teach em for taking the piss out of the nicky clee substitution. smug tw*ts.
(pardon me for the language)
-
"Sad news that rugby commentator Bill McLaren has died. I was at his home town rugby lub the other day where he was a muh loved and respected figure."
Indeed.
The mood on here has gone down hill fast in the last 10 minutes.
Come on Alty
-
59 mins: It is 2-1 as Danylyk hammers home from 25 yards
Back in it folks!
-
lets hope the turn around in mood keep going for 10 minutes too!
-
GET IN!
-
In the words of Alan Partridge "Back of the net!!!"
-
In the words of Alan Partridge "Back of the net!!!"
"Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!"
-
Orange Tree trip put on-hold for 25 mins !
Saves me £2.35 and 210 calories tonight
-
Game over now :( :( :(
Really hope I was wrong. C'mon ALTY, replay at least.
-
"He must have a foot like a traction engine!"
-
we're putting them under pressure
-
66 mins: Alty going for it as Clee makes a difference
-

It's not necessarily about the number of players, in this case behind the keeper. The ajudication to be made is whether the challenge prevented an obvious goalscoring opportunity i.e. Is the player more likely to score than not. This does not preclude a red card for the challenge if it's considered serious enough on it's own merits

AFC Wimbledon 3 Alty 1.
-
Bum botty fart farts
-
play out now with care.. avoid bookings & injuries
-
67 mins: Series of Alty corners; lawton heads wide from 5 yards
72 mins: 3-1 Wimbledon make it 3-1 with scrappy goal from corner
Sounds like it could have been 2-2
-
Little = Henry
76 mins: Little punches ball into net= yellow carded
-
81 mins: Still 3-1 but Alty trying for goal but we keep wasting corners
-
We haven't given up..credit to the lads
-
84 mins: Senior rugby tackled to ground by last defender- nothing given
Sounds like we are having one of those games
-
att 1450
-
3 mins added
-
FT Alty lose 3-1 but not aided by poor referee
-
Now we can concentrate on the play -offs. ;D ;D ;D
-
So can we now play one of our postponed fixtures this Tuesday?
-
Sent this in..............."any chance of a mention or haven't we touched the ball yet?"
I emailed the above last night to the Dons commentary team.
They actually took the time to reply so fair play to them. Most would never bother. Posted their response below
Hello,
I've read your email about last night's coverage of the trophy fixture and wished to add my thoughts.
I personally wasn't happy with my, and WDON's, performance last night. The game started badly with so many aimless balls from both sides that there was little on pitch to raise a great deal of interest. I had no idea that that many people would be on air, we usually have 2 with an occasional third and I didn't have the understanding I would normally have with my colleague and it all help to fragment the coverage. It was quite tough to identify the players, I couldn't clearly see the teamsheet, which also can contain numbering errors.
I apologise for what happened at times. I wasn't happy with last night and will be working to improve in future.
Please feel free to critique, we're fundamentally fans off the terrace but it doesn't stop me wanting to improve our service.
Thanks
Geoff Hawley
