I wouldn't call it strange; he was extremely well-regarded at Trafford and was worth taking a closer look at.

Good luck to the lad and I'm sure he'll find himself a decent club.

Isn't he still on loan at Nantwich? Perhaps he may go permanent there now?
Although now they've changed managers, that might have been the trigger and he could return to Trafford?
