When was the last time that we didn't play a single league game during the course of a calendar month (excluding close season obviously)?

I'll go for December 1981.

The only game we played during that month was an FA Cup Second Round tie at York City on Saturday, 12th, which finished 0-0.

And, arguably, even that match should never have taken place, as it was a bitterly cold afternoon in York and the pitch was rock hard due to frost.

I recall travelling back over the Pennines during heavy snow, whilst being disappointed that the eventual winners of the tie had been drawn away to Burnley in the Third Round.

The York City replay at Moss Lane was postponed several times, owing to snow or a waterlogged pitch, and didn't proceed until Saturday, 2nd January 1982.
