I hope the game is a home end "sell out" ,crunch time might be this afternoon after work when people can get down to the ground.

The ticket office will open for 15 minutes after the coach returns tomorrow night to allow anyone on the coach to buy tickets for the Millwall game.

Hope this helps

One of the best moments of my Alty watching life was joining the queue that stretched from the original golf road turnstiles to the bar exit gates for the Barnet game in 1991.

Some people will think thats odd, but it was just so good to queue to watch Alty!

I also remember thinking that people may have been evacuated!

This is what it's all about though. To me these cup ties are not just about the game itself (which is usually over in a flash), it's about the 2 weeks prior to the game with all those extra people coming in and out of the club each day and the general buzz around the place. All of a sudden all the people who normally take the mick out of non league football start taking it seriously and asking about all sorts of things to do with the club. A lot of people are working their socks off to ensure everything goes smoothly too and they deserve huge recognition for their efforts. It's all massively exciting and we've got another whole week to dream of giant killing before the big game. Now, where is my giant killers DVD?

On a similar note, I remember as a kid, going past the ground in 1988 on my way to school when - bang! - this almighty TV gantry had appeared on the popular side roof, ready for the Halifax match.  Match of the Day was coming!

Shame about the result...

I remember that too Bob...amazement that I was going to see Alty on the TV.

The Halifax game was such an anti climax!!

That will be 284 standing sold then..and Hughesy said about 100 seats gone by lunch..could shift 500 today so its not a bad start at all.

When you consider that most regular fans won't have had the chance to come down yet that's highly impressive.

They've set up a bit of a 'merchandise spread' just next to where they are selling the tickets too...which when i was there had a bit of a gathering around it...

I think this weekend will be hammered for sales...with circa 500 sold today, and possibly more on Saturday & Sunday...we could have half our allocation sold a week before the game! Quality!

One thing that occurred to me earlier was the fact that it's been so long since we had a big draw in the FA Cup it's actually going to be a real novelty to local people again (where 15/20 years ago it was almost expected of us). There are so many who have moved into the area in the last 10 years or so who know nothing of our past exploits in the cup. This could work in our favour because as well as the usual suspects who turn up for big games there could be a whole new flock of "floating supporters" who come along and get bitten by the "Alty bug".

Merchandise is a great idea..the bandwagon will need shiny new scarf to pretend they have been coming for years  ;D

Got my 6 tickets this evening. My daughter, her boyfriend, his mate, my dad, my mate from work, and me! - sorted!  :)
Meeting some mates tomorrow and hoping there will be a few more takers! The more the merrier!

I think it's worth someone with the contacts to suggest to the club that they make it clear where the tickets are on sale.
I directed 3 people on the way to my car, to tell them where the tickets were on sale. They were looking bewildered at the main entrance!
An A4 notice "Tickets this way >" would suffice. I'd hate to think we lost out on ticket sales due to such a simple oversight.

Don't wanna fall out with anyone here but (a) All ticket sales in the recent past have been from the same place (b) Most sales of anything else have been from the same place (c) Anyone who has wanted to physically contact the Club on a non match day has gone to the same place and (d) It's quite likely that if today has been anything like every other day when I've been to ML there's only one gate open and it shouldn't be beyond the wit of homo sapiens to figure out where to go.

That being said probably a sign wouldn't be a bad idea

I see your point Phil but given the nature of the tie I reckon it's reasonable to assume that a lot of people visiting the ground to buy tickets probably haven't been there before.

We need to find 2000 people who have not been for years...some maybe not since the current ticket office was the chicken stand.

Its seems obvious that they would follow main entrance signs so a printed piece of A4 in the main door window may help

Hodgey,
I often work in the Liverpool area (mainly Prescot & Fazackerley, but sometimes Bootle) and a few years ago was offered the 'full corporate' ie. stadium tour, prematch meals and drinks, warm box, more beer etc etc for a Champions League game against one of the top Italian or Spanish clubs (cannot remember).

I turned it down and told them I was watching Alty play Barrow that evening..............how they laughed next day when I told them the game was called off at teatime due to very heavy rainfall and a number of serious accidents on the M6 !

As Ecky says, it's never the same !

I had a similar opportunity to have the same at Kilmarnock last week (the company 'erself works for is the shirt sponsor), but I turned it down to go to Kendal.

I made the right choice!
