Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Ladies Pre Season
« on: September 01, 2016, 12:43:53 PM »
Thanks for that Jack

Given that all the teams that you mention (a) Got more game time on the hallowed turf than the Ladies last season and (B) are male, without seeking in any way to be confrontational precisely how much respect do you personally think the Ladies team are due?

We are aware of the fact that, under present regulations, we cannot provise a first team player, unlike the other teams but we have made significant progress over a very short period of time and, we believe, represent the Club in a very positive manner.

Youve answered your own question really. They don't lead to a first team prospect. They did however get a beer festival spot.

Ultimately - I don't mean this disrespectfully - they are a recreational side, same as our Supporters team. The reserves play at Cheshire League level and would provide a more competitive fixture for the paying customer.

I'd rather perhaps see a walking football match
The supporters team are a bit more than a recreational side. They represent the club as well as the all the other Alty teams.
The Ladies team play in a competitive league and have made significant progress in their short history.
Maybe we could have a walking football match take place at the next beer festival.

I'd also like to add our Juniors section - which we dont publicise as well as we could at times, now has 39 boys teams in leagues, 10 girls teams in leagues, a 2hour Saturday club for Ages U6-U8 and a girls Wednesday club for any below U9.  Its booming with about 700 kids enjoying junior football and playing in Alty kits !

I think it'd be a shame to close - searching back on this forum and on the one before provides so much documented history of what the club was going through at various points in time.

Having said that, its been destroyed over the last 12 months by the at times ridiculous postings.

Why are we giving experience to an 18 centre back , when we have our own 18 year old centre back that requires it. Some very strange goings on at this club under Neil Young.

Standard practice for him

Do you think NY likes Lottery  scratch cards - keeps buying them and frantically scratching the foil off to see if he has a winner and then realising - sh!t - another one I didnt win !

I wonder how many players sinnot brought in during his 5 year tenure - NY must be getting close to matching him within 5 months!

I'm struggling to not buy 3 mugs for work!

The fixture one, the Altea one and the Guiseley Ceefax one !

Why not treat the office?

Tempting - but working about a mile from Edgeley Park and with 2 County fans in my department its a bit risky!

Trying to get a positive from it, having only supported Alty for 9 years and missed all the historic glory moments (apart from Guiseley Promotion and the FA Cup televised game with Burton), I have now been at the ground for another historic moment.

I didn't see the alleged incident with Dawber, however I get a couple of up close photos of the pitch invader following each goal.

Were they close ups - or was he just large !  We thought he might struggle to get back over the hoardings!

One of the nice things about the family stand is that, generally speaking, foul language isn't a major problem. Once you open it more to away fans, then this could change.

Its never been a problem in the main stand though so it shouldnt change!

Ha ha  - I thought of flyny too when I saw that on tv!  Maybe Alty TV needs a compilation of Brians finest moments.

I've just used a grab hire guy to move 15 tonnes of the old pitch topsoil round to my house for a landscaping project I'm working on.

If anyone wants the same, he'll grab it up and tip it locally for £100 a load.   A similar load of new topsoil would cost £300+.

His name is Tom, 07905 263093 and mention Stuart passed on his details.

« on: June 16, 2016, 01:48:13 PM »
All,

as per the main site we are holding a 2nd working party this Saturday between 10am and 4pm if anyone can spare some time to help out.

The 1st work party on Sat 4th achieved a lot and the ground is looking clean and tidy, a bit more work this Saturday and it should be in tip top shape for the season to come.
