Not sure our win at Brum was a shock.
-
Only on 1% so far.....
-
Judging by the poll so far it's mainly young kids voting that don't remember the older games. I've gone for Sutton v Coventry. A proper part time non league team beating a team that had only won the competition a year earlier. Ours, although a fantastic achievement wasn't a massive shock.
-
Bradford scoring four stands out, but non league in the quarters means Lincoln for me.
-
Wrexham beating Arsenal 92
-
Walsall beating Arsenal 33.

That was even before your time!!

Sutton beating Arsenal 2017 ;D

Surely it's Arsenal beating Sutton, 2017?

"Almost managerless" Arsenal ? Wonder if Jim Harvey will apply ? After all, he's a former Gunner !
-
As an aside to this, could we end up being the first club to win more FA Cup games than league games in a season?

I'd say that was a certainty.
-
What do we reckon the least amount of teams is after our cup run has ended and the winners (I'm fairly certain I know the answer here).?
I.e. Knocked out by Lincoln who get knocked out by Arsenal who get beat by Chelsea in the final would equal 3 teams

86 we lost to York who lost to Liverpool who duly won it
95 we lost to spurs who lost to Everton who duly won it
-
In 1972/3 season we lost to Notts County, who were knocked out by Sunderland, who won it.
-
Thank you Flynny, I had those two that Bob mentioned in my mind but weren't aware of others.
-
I think Yeovil beating Sunderland is probably the biggest giantkilling. But i loved it when Colchester beat Leeds.
-
If they pull it off against Arsenal it certainly will be the greatest ever shock
-
I don't think a real giant killing is possible now. Most teams play reserves and squad players. I have never heard of most of the Arsenal team that beat Sutton.

bit odd, I'd heard of all of them and I dont even follow the premier league

35Elneny Substituted for Oxlade-Chamberlain Egypt International replaced by England International

If you've never heard of most of them you don't watch much football! The majority are regulars in the Arsenal matchday squad and full internationals!
-
Heard of - Ospina Walcott Oxlade-Chamberlain Monreal Sánchez
Never heard of - Pérez Mustafi Holding Reine-Adelaide Maitland-Niles
Vaguely know the name - Elneny Xhaka Gabriel Iwobi
I have no interest in the premier league but my point is only about three of these are regular first team players. In the 70's when giant killing was at it's peak the best teams didn't treat the competition as a waste of time. They played their best players.

Yes wonderful memories of Alty in the FA Cup......first big win I remember was going to see the Robins beat Rochdale away......then there was Wolves away ....0-5 but still a great day plus the best of the lot going to White Hart Lane to see a great 1-1 draw.......John King made the acquaintance of Ossie Ardiles after about 30 seconds and in the end we were unlucky only to get a draw. I unfortunately missed the Birmingham victory which must have been brilliant.
Great memories
