We have approx 1.2% chance of getting a bye (with full prize money) into the second round due to Bury expulsion from competition

First ball out gets it...we are no 55.

Players and management are watching in the Noel White Suite. All are welcome.

Last ball out gets it !
"One club will receive a bye to round two when the first-round draw is made, following Bury's removal from the competition.
The final club left in the pot will receive the bye and be awarded the £36,000 prize money for a first-round winner."
-
Glad we cleared that one up in advance!
-
Probably get an away gam with little chance of winning.Somethimg like Lincoln or Mansfield.Even Ipswich away doesn't really appeal.
-
Sunderland away could be a money spinner. Sunderland at home would be more fun.
-
After 3 away draws we are due a home tie,.. so its Plymouth away then :D
-
Bolton away?
They are struggling but still getting decent numbers so a chance of beating them and/or getting a decent payout.
-
1. A bye
2. A team beatable at home
3. A big team at home (on TV?)
4. A big team away (Sunderland, Bolton, Ipswich etc)
Please not an away game in the North East!
Think we'll get Hartlepool AT HOME
-
Buzzing for the draw.
My guess is Woking or Ebbsfleet. Away.
-
York City away.
-
Harrogate away
-
Something really sh*t like Crawley away.
-
There are 79 possibilities and I think you have just identified my 79th choice!
-
Salford away or Rochdale at Home.
-
First choice : the bye
Second choice : Chichester City at home
Third choice : Sunderland away
The reality : Fleetwood away
-
York City away.
Told you. Absolutely awful draw.
-
However... Another Conf North team who will think we are easy meat!
-
York City away.
Told you. Absolutely awful draw.
It's your bloody fault !

Sorry. Winnable after a replay. And its back to the grey strip.
-
On the plus side we have a good record there and they are going to lose at some stage
-
Well, that was an anticlimax!
Maybe York will concentrate on the league! The plus is that they are favourites so it's pressure on them!
-
Not what we wanted but need to turn up with A game. It’s winnable as a cup game
-
How can you draw Chester Southport and f**king York away amongst four away draws in one cup run, appalling
-
However... Another Conf North team who will think we are easy meat!
I mean we all thought we’d lose at Chester & Southport but we got through both. I recall the opening day & Jordan pokes one just wide when we are 1 up vs York so could have been a different game if that one had gone in. Always a good day on the ales too but yes overall it’s a pretty awful draw. One thing at least is the TV won’t be interested in a game between two Conference North sides so it should be 3pm Saturday.
-
Good day out! What is the date of the first round?
-
Agree it should be a Saturday (Nov 9th)
Opening another can of worms, whenever we have worn grey in a Cup tie at York, we have lost...
-
The more you look at this tie, the better it becomes. At least it's a nice venue and not some godforsaken place down south. Oh, it's also winnable. That sh*te we played on Saturday got an easy draw there a few weeks back.
-
Let's do this to Steve McNulty.

-
No excuses not to take 800+ plus.If your other half complains just
Remind them that York is a Great city for Xmas shopping.
Just got 8 mates to go to the game going to get a mini bus booked just
Awaiting confirmation it's a Saturday Game.

Does anyone actually know if we have to play in grey or can you use an old kit i.e. purple?
I am actually being genuine. I am guessing you have to play in the kit you provide to the league at the start of the season.
-
We need a third kit. Luminous yellow a la Sheffield United 1989/91.

I don't know, but the grey kit at York in 1986 was a one-off for that match, with different sponsors from normal. I think we wore a special kit against Tottenham in the replay in 1979, so they didn't have to change from their traditional white shirts, so you certainly could choose a special kit.
The rules may have changed after all those years, though.
-
Memory might be muddled here, but didn't Crawley have a different kit on for their match at United a few years ago?
-
This fairly dull Sheffield United-Arsenal game has prompted me to do some research. Of note last year that they’d announced the 4 live games and the Sunday score update games by the Thursday immediately following the draw so hopefully we’ll know by the end of this week latest before trains go up in ££.
The 8 Sunday score update games last year nearly all contained a combination of a league side and a non league side so fingers crossed we will stay on Saturday at 3pm. They also kicked off at 1245 on the Sunday which would be awful for the fans but for the club I think last year would have netted us 12k. Another factor which could affect traveling support if moved to a Sunday is Liverpool vs City is live on Sky that afternoon too. I’d imagine nearly all of us would really want Saturday at 3 then.
So if the set up the same as last year, my predictions for the live games across the weekend would be Harrogate vs Pompey, Dover vs Southend, Dulwich vs Carlisle & maybe Hayes/Poole vs Oxford United. For the Sunday score updates, Chesterfield/Wrexham vs Rochdale, Leyton O vs Maldon & Tiptree, Bristol R vs Bromley, Gateshead vs Oldham, Wealdstone/Maidenhead vs Rotherham, Chippenham vs Northampton, Barnet vs Fleetwood & maybe Macc vs Kingstonian.
-
Maybe they'll put a camera in the secretary's office at Chichester, and film them gleefully counting their "win" money. Jealous ? Moi ? Too bloody right I am !
-
We need a third kit. Luminous yellow a la Sheffield United 1989/91.
Bring back the yellow shirts & blue shorts from the late 70s & early 80s, say I!
-
How much would it cost to produce a new kit just for this match? Got to be considered. The shirts could be sold off afterwards, or just retained as the new away kit.
-
Get them to play in skins. Or will they all get booked?
-
I do feel sorry for those involved in the current grey kit - I do think it looks smart - but there's definitely something in that grey kit thing raised by United years ago.
Bring back aquamarine! I think we had a good run in the FA Cup in that kit if my memory serves me correctly.
-
The players have said that is difficult to see teammates in grey. A fraction of a second can make a lot of difference. A new kit is under consideration.

The more I talk with people involved in football they all have said a grey kit is a risk. It wasn't just down to confidence. Yes our confidence was low but we literally couldn't pass to each other. Some of displays in that kit have been dire. Shockingly bad.
Can we just not wear the purple one until a new kit is designed? We are very good in that kit and no argument that it stands out.
I fear the worst if not sorted before the FA Cup game.
The difference in how we play in red and white confirms we need to ditch the grey.
-
PP apparently fancies yellow. No arguments from me, but I think the purple is classy - and we had two decent seasons with it.
-
TV GAMES:
Harrogate vs Pompey, Dover vs Southend, Dulwich vs Carlisle & maybe Hayes/Poole vs Oxford United
As predicted below by Sarf London Alty.
-
We deserve some luck after 4 away draws! lets hope the BBC can see what an great game this will be and put us on telly ;)
-
Shirts - if the management would like yellow that's good enough for me. We did well enough in that colour in the long ago ...
TV - it is SO much easier to get to a Saturday 3pm game ...
-
Agreed re TV-If it’s a Sunday lunchtime there’s little doubt the away support would fall off a cliff compared to Saturday at 3pm and let’s be honest as a day out it just really isn’t the same. Still if it is a Sunday then the money is the consolation and the casual fan can just watch the BBC to see the goals as they happen. I reckon Saturday 3pm we’d take ballpark 400-450, Sunday lunch no more than 150.
-
At least, if I have to miss out because I work on Sundays, we've got a telly in the office.
-
Moved to Sunday for tv
-
Is it worth any money to the club ?
-
Piss take.
-
Well, that move has cost us at least one potential spectator in the away end - namely me.
-
Is it worth any money to the club ?
£12500
-
Thanks EX GK!

Those after a change in kit for the game will be pleased to know the lads will be wearing a yellow/blue/white kit, same design as grey away kit. The reason being that due to the timescale involved, changing colours on current design are the easiest and quickest option. Hope those desperate for change are happy now?
Thanks for the efforts mate but the change was needed.
-
If the players were questioning the kit then fair enough
-
Thanks Ian, I appreciate the change. Is this for the cup or all games going forward where a change of kit is supplied?
-
Good news and bad news
Yellow kit - excellent
BBC ruining our day out - no thanks. When is their constant tinkering with the cup kick off times going to stop?
-
Is it really that much harder travel on a Sunday compared with a Saturday? It's the same game at the same venue.

Public transport users have fewer services on a Sunday.

12:45 also more difficult. Especially from the South.

The day out is ruined - I have to work on a Monday like most people.

Are you saying you can't enjoy going to a football match without having a skinful?

I do feel for you, Ian - which is why I've been careful with my phrasing on the grey kit (where others haven't). I think the template's great, so hopefully the change in base colour to yellow, whilst keeping the red and white sash, will be both smart AND practical for the players.
-
Are you saying you can't enjoy going to a football match without having a skinful?
Each to their own of course but many enjoy the whole day and there is usually rather more than just the main event especially with an away trip to a decent town.
-
Are you saying you can't enjoy going to a football match without having a skinful?
Bet you're fun at parties
-
Are you saying you can't enjoy going to a football match without having a skinful?
That’s a bit unfair. Looking forward to a day out socially with friends for a football match is a far stretch from having to consume a ‘skinful’ in order to enjoy the game.
For a multitude of reasons I don’t think there’s any doubt that a Sunday lunch time kick off becomes less convenient than a 3pm Saturday game for the vast majority. It’s certainly going to put a real dampener in our away following.

Spot on. There’s only one direct train from London that even gets you there for kick off and that will still involve a brisk walk to the ground if you want so much as a half before kick off. That’s a side point though as I choose to live down here, overall the day out, atmosphere and all round experience (which let’s not forget is a huge part of it, especially for the inflated casual away support who typically travel for our FA Cup aways) is nowhere near the same at Sunday lunchtime as it would be on a Saturday at 3. I’ll still be there hoping we can do it but there’s no doubt we’ll take at best half of what we would have taken on Saturday at 3.
