Altrincham FC First Team / Re: FA Trophy Semi-Final Draw
« on: March 14, 2023, 10:51:23 AM »
If, and if we manage to win the final, the club will have made upwards of £100,000.00 without counting the gate money and ancillary earnings.

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a small cut goes to the FA of the attendance revenue, plus some to the away team, including us when we are away such as York and Bracknell.

Goodson's goal was instrumental in knocking Wrexham out of the FA Trophy.

He must be a shoe-in for the semi final and final if we get there, even as sub.

Stay fit and healthy lads please.

I guess costs prohibit that, though it works better at weekends.

Altrincham FC First Team / Yesterday's match
« on: March 05, 2023, 01:32:04 PM »
Despite the reverse of the result I expected us to get, I am not going to be negative but am going to just put it down as a minor glitch which everybody will have learnt from. I did feel much better once I listened to Phil's interview after the game. The club have made several long journeys recently, and we have had new players join or rejoin the club. Phil has identified faults and will work with the players. We are still a great side with much to play for, and we have to expect that this will sometimes happen for whatever reason.

There is still much to look forward too and unlike some clubs our season is far from over.

Whoops! Dinnertime.

I think he is a great signing, but we also need to be patient with Regan and give him time to settle into the side. He needs a bit of a run in the side too. what happened on Tuesday was unfortunate, but there are a lot of traffic problems around the Sale and Altrincham area during half term, at present. I think that is just as much to blame for his late arrival.

It's not so long ago we were praising Osbourne for his link with Isaac Marriott, before Isaac was injured. He is starting to improve once again since Isaac returned and I feel we should stand by him.

Very sad loss to the club, wonderful behind the bar and always had a smile for you.

A great deal of help to Steve from Sale when I decided to quit my bad pork-scratching habit. I remember telling her that I was having too many fillings in my teeth and with her cheery smile she said, 'right! I'll stop ordering them then, cos you're the only one who buys them.' So I said, 'well just order one more box for old times sake.' She replied with a curt no, thereby saving my teeth for further damage.

RIP Jenny, you'll be glad to know I still have my own teeth! Love to the rest of your family too.

Heartbroken to hear this, got on well with John King. He used to give my sons Chris and Alex chewing gum. Met him at the Breakfast with the King alongside the great first team squad of 1990/91, at the Bowden Hotel. I actually said to him I was thoroughly enjoying watching his team play, he was delighted to hear and invited me to meet the players next game, which I subsequently did - spoke to Paul Showler at great length in the changing room.

He also invited my wife Carys to meet the players in the dressing room on her birthday once, however she exited stage left when the players threatened to throw her in the showers. I was a steward at one time working at the back of the changing rooms. I once heard his team talk. He was yelling at the top of his voice and firing the players up before a game with Stalybridge. We went on to win it 4-1, I wasn't in the least bit surprised as it made ME want to kick the nearest wall in!

Not only was he a great player and manager, he was a really nice guy as well. Rest in Peace Kingy, you'll always be a hero to me!!

Wow, interesting reading. Do we really know what we have? Good luck to Regan in his new role, you will smash it; and the Alty fans will be right behind you.

Best of luck Regan, glad you're here.

Not sure if the documentation for Linney will be completed in time for Saturday evening.
