Title: When will they learn? (Pt. 973557906064)
Post by: MarpleAlty on November 12, 2014, 04:23:20 PM
I've mentioned a couple of times on other threads about Bury's continual overspending

Apparently, the fans have been sticking their head in the sand about this for some time.  The content of that article should make for truly frightful reading.

Wouldn't be surprised if we have a new derby in a couple of years (unless they plummet past us)...

Utterly terrifying to read this, especially for a Bury fan. And no surprise that the Guardian's questions received not even a "no comment". I can see Gigg Lane becoming a housing estate before the end of the decade.

The Bury board responded to the article, and the Guardian have responded again:

So basically in some parts the board are lying, in in the other parts they've simply stayed silent or labelled it a 'private matter' because they can't come up with a bullsh*t excuse.

They might be the first club to get promoted and start on -10pts at this rate - that's if they still have a ground.
