When is the draw?
-
Tomorrow/1.30/live on ITV/we are number 58 i think
-
Stockport at home please. Will be a huge crowd and a good chance of progression.
-
Is it National this time? could we be away at some where terrible like Met Police or Macclesfield ;)
-

Or Crawley? ..........shudders.
-
Arlesey Town at Moss Lane.
£18,000 in prize money awarded for a victory in the First Round.
-
kidderminster harriers at home
-
Home draw or big league 1 team away
Hopefully the players will get a bonus for 3 great results, the PA system is updated and we don't get into a fixture backlog when we get to the 2nd and 3rd rounds
Excellent today lads, I remember us struggling to beat 9 man vics a few seasons ago..
-
Could be the biggest Alty day for many a year.
-
wasnt that 8 man vics?
-
My guess is Alfreton at home
-
What date is it?
-
Met Police at home. We can beat a set of plebs like that.
-
Sheffield United away, would be a great draw
-
Would love a home draw against an out of form lower than where they should be league team who take loads away.
I suspect we will get barrow or fleetwood...
-
Sheffield United away, would be a great draw
rolling back the years. have to admit that would appeal to me too Dunham.
I'd like to avoid York City.
-
its going to be Bury away, the greatest tram trip of all time
-
I see both Macc and Stockport won today. Either of them two would be preferable to most FL sides.
-
oh sod it i'm just chuffed to little mint balls we're in the 1st round proper...
-
I have just read my tea leaves and it will be Hastings United AWAY. ;)
-
oh sod it i'm just chuffed to little mint balls we're in the 1st round proper...
this ! Well done Lee and team brilliant news for this club
-
We're going to Plymouth. But we'll win.
What we REALLY want is two consecutive winnable ties before we go to Anfield in Round 3 and write a new page in our glorious history.
Come on guys, this is our time !
-
sheff utd away would be class considering where im living, if not an away trip to macc, stockport, or any league 1 club
-
wrexham away
-
I had a dream last night we will be drawn at home against a team beginning with S

Purely for money reasons...
An easy home tie for prize money with hope of a bigger pay day later in the competition or...
Sheff Utd away (average home att this season over 18000)...we get half of that money £££££££££

Also just had a thought....
We might be on Al Jazeera Sport TV even if we get a 3pm kick off in the CUP.
They show three or four matches from the Cup on Saturday 3pm games plus all the usual UK tv times.
Not sure how much they pay to the clubs they show.
-
Accrington away, I'm really sorry x

Just hope we don't pull out the worst tie of the round, Stevenage away.

There's no way 18000 would go to an FA cup 1st round game. They got 10000 at home last season in the 3rd round.
Anyway, we will not get a lucrative big crowd/live on TV draw. Oh no. No. No chance.... ;)

i stand to be corrected but dont non league cubs get 50% and league cubs 33.3% the balance 16.66% going into the fa pot.
thinks could have changed now that we get prize money .
things always change they should stay the same . children should work up chimneys and down pits etc

Its a 50/50 after expenses with nothing to the FA until the third round:
(i) In matches prior to the Third Round of the Competition Proper (other than replayed
matches in the Competition Proper), the net gate receipts of each match shall be
divided equally between the competing Clubs.
(ii) In replayed matches in the Competition Proper prior to the Third Round, 5% of the net
gate receipts shall be remitted to The Association and the balance shall be divided
equally between the competing Clubs.
(iii) In matches played in the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Rounds of the Competition
Proper, the net gate receipts of each match shall be divided as follows:
45% to each Club competing in the match.
10% to the Pool

great to be in the hat - i think it was luton last time or millwall> both very close games ,the luton replay was a late afair , the old floodlight situation dont plug that toaster in this time ;)
-
I am properly excited about the draw today, it's just great to be back in there again after a few barren years of underperforming in this competition.
Let's hope we get a good draw and roll back the years with a good old fashioned giant killing!
Wemberley, Wemberley, we're the famous Alty FC and we're going to Wemberley!
-
I am not excited at all. I am also a liar.
-
I'm going mad waiting for this draw. Selfishly I want some southern Jessie's away!

To be honest mate i just wanted to get the word ballbag into a forum post!
-
I'm going mad waiting for this draw. Selfishly I want some southern Jessie's away!
I would normally be the same, however I am going to be back home that weekend so would prefer a nice plum tie at Moss Lane. We'll probably therefore draw Portsmouth away.... :)
-
Hungover happy and looking forward to draw great day out
-
Pompey or Shef at home would get us on tv-that must be what we want
-
iv'e got to go out at 13:30 - if they get a bloody shift on and we're drawn at home nice and early I'll be able to 'share the moment' -
C'MON ALTY
-
Lowest ranked side left in it for me, lets go as far as we can, I'm sure sheff Utd, Pompey or cov at home would see us on tv, however I'd sooner just keep going and collecting the prize money and progressing through the rounds
-

we've gained £24,500 in prize money so far.
Second Round Qualifying winners £4,500
Third Round Qualifying winners £7,500
Fourth Round Qualifying winners £12,500
an easy home tie agains a low ranked team would go a long way to helping us net another £18,000 in prize money for winning the first round proper.

+1 or guaranteed TV match.

anyone know the lowest ranked team left in?

well we cant play ourselves ;D

I'll guess 34 away. ;)

I'll guess 34 away. ;)
that would give a chance for the team from ten odd years ago to finally turn up...

Met police at home please

Met police V Crawley Town.
Bastards.

Wank
-
burton away >:(
-
Winnable
-
Burton away for you lot enjoy :)
-
Terrible draw. >:(
-
Awful draw. Small club, playoff contenders two divisions above. Absolutely dreadful.
-
....at least it's not a massive journey.
-
Drawn away yet again, jesus
-
bollocks bollocks bollocks
-
not the best draw, but do we have a giant killing opporunity - most definately yes.
-
Only positive is it's not too far..... Annoyed doesn't cut it
-
well, at least we have never lost a cup match to them! And a replay would be a possible televised fixture...
-
Well, what a load of sh*t that is!
Very disappointing draw. :(
-
They are in play off zone io L2, but never say never
-
Awful draw.............Bradford and Preston still in the bowl as well
-
Not the best that really.
Decent away end though and hopefully no one will be concerned about going there from a fans point of view.
Can't wait to get in that grey soulless breeze block bar again!
-
I suppose if we keep our winning run going anything can happen
-
bloody unlucky with 4 away ties in a row thou
-
The only good thing is we should take good numbers there, 12th man and all that.
Hopefully we'll play to our full potential and they will have an off day.
-
Bad draw but in some respects I think we are better off playing them away .
-

Its 1 hr 20 mins and 66 miles from Alty so we should take a few I hope...
-
Couldn't have been much worse IMO. Will be a small crowd and we'll struggle to get a result >:(
-
I think we'll win.
-
A tragic draw for us all after our efforts to get this far.
A souless breeze block ground and what do they get at home, 2k I'd guess so our cut of the gate receipts won't be that great either.
At least Burton has some decent boozers if nothing else.
Arse.
-
No not the best draw but not the worst either seeing as we are destined to always be away, Crawley, Aldershot, Stevenage, Mansfield , Guiseley, Barrow etc? Better than any of those, good drinking town plus easy access to Derby later on for a few more for those who like that sort of thing.
-
Will this be played on Sunday 4th November, as the day before Derby are at home to Blackpool. Don't Burton and Derby share the stewarding at both grounds?
-
Their squad list contains a lot of familiar names from our conference national days. Unfortunately they seem good at home with a good defence, but hardly prolific scorers. We do have a chance, just not a big one! Great beer though.
-

Now that would put the mockers on it living down south.
-

Would be absolutely bizarre if that was the case. Surely as a football league club they need to have stewarding arrangements that don't depend on another club?
-
Looking forward to it! Lots of good pubs in the town centre. Always remember Joe O'Niells goal there a few years back when they'd won 19 in a row or something?!!
COME ON ALTY!!!
-
Its better than Stevenage away or Forest Green away.
At the moment that's the best I can do!
A chance for our lads to shine though....we can get a draw there with a top draw performance.
-

I may well be wrong, but I don't think Burton and Derby play home league matches on the same day.
-
Not sure what I'm most dissapointed with, the opposition or fact we're away again!
On reflection it could be worse and our away form is very good, so a draw would be welcome.
-
Bradford City, Preston North End, Tranmere Rovers , Carlisle United, Yeovil Town were all still in the pot. Really thought a game on TV might be on the cards here.
Its a draw where you think bollocks at the start but the more you get used to the idea the better it becomes putting a brave face on it
Friday night at Burton might just well suit us.
On a side note: Carlisle United v Ebbsfleet United ouch
-
If it's played on the Sunday I don't think I'll be able to go. Please let it be on the Saturday!!!!

Looks like this is true. I've had a glance at the two teams' fixture lists and, for example, Burton are playing Accrington at home on Sunday 9th December. Derby are at home the day before.
So I think the game could well be played on the Sunday.
-
Sunday would work great for me whereas Saturday I would not be able to be there. Fingers crossed....

-
just got the news. Understandably disappointed but we have to go into the game believing we can win - and we can win.
It's not a tie on anybody's wish-list but this is a game that does provide a potential route to round 2 - where more money awaits us.
Come on Alty - let's feckin' win this tie.
C'mon.
-
Saturday please , their recent form isn't grteat, one win in six
-
They will say that the tie must be played on that weekend so they are within their rights to say its on Sunday.
City are away at West Ham and United play Arsenal on the Saturday so we would get more floating fans on the Sunday.
I'd prefer it on the Saturday though..
-
Altrincham at home for us. Possibly one of the most uninviting ties in the draw and I doubt either set of supporters will fancy that. It's just nice to have a cup tie at home though to be fair.
As Derby are at home we have our usual tinpot steward situation which means it's almost guaranteed to be moved to either the Friday night or the Sunday afternoon.
-
Now Friday would be terrible!!!
-
Dont ESPN do Friday night games in the FA cup thou or am I misled?
-
Friday night - please not.
-
Absolutely anything but Friday night
-
Dont ESPN do Friday night games in the FA cup thou or am I misled?
They wouldn't want to show two non league teams
-
Friday Sunday all very tedious
-
Friday, Saturday or Sunday I will be there.
-
They still owe us a favour from our heroic 0-0 at Cambridge on the last of the season when they went up.
Time to call in it I think
-
I dont think its too bad, better than Bristol Rovers or someone if we had to be away.Hope they understimate us
-

At the moment that's the best I can do!
A chance for our lads to shine though....we can get a draw there with a top draw performance.
FGR V PORT VALE.......snigger
-
Our club should refuse outright to play on the Friday night. Simple as that, Sunday fair enough, but after a day at work should players and fans alike really have to brave the M6 on Friday teatime due to burton not having stewards? Friday would put us at a total disadvantage and lower the crowd, we should NOT accept the offer to play on a Friday night......

Agreed mate, unless big money from TV which is unlikely.

T**ts V T**ts.

ITV stated the games were to be played on "the weekend of 3rd and 4th November", which for what it's worth suggests Friday is not an option. It seems most likely that it will be Sunday due to stewarding arrangements, which doesn't suit me personally but I'll make every effort to be there. We're very much in a 'nothing to lose' situation which might actually help our chances. One point for coach organisers to note - I distinctly remember that the last time we went there we were charged ten quid to park the coach.
-
It'll cost us nothing to "park the bus" though ;)
To those glass half empty merchants among you : we weren't expected to get a result at Everton, Tottenham, Rotherham, Sheffield United, Blackpool.......and CERTAINLY not Birmingham City !
It's the magic of the cup and we are bang in form and high on confidence.
KEEP THE FAITH ! ! ! ! !

I think it's laughable that they can't provide their own stewards, I really do.
They've got some of the typical ingredients for a tinpot outfit:
Soulless breezeblock stadium
Copy of the incredibly tedious "Tom Hark" to play whilst easy clapping
Using an outside firm to steward games
Oh, how I'm looking forward to this tie..... ::)
-
my first reaction was oh ffs that is a sh*t draw for us.
I'm coming round now to talking myself into believing we can actually win the match and get an ever bigger reward.
For any burton fans reading this, I really don't want to sound disrespectful and credit to you for your success, a respected non league rival you perhaps were.....but decent FA Cup draw material you aint....and that's a sort of compliment coz it'll be tough to progress....to the sort of draw that burton built their success on......not even a new ground to visit.......I'm sure you understand :-)
-
On reflection i am happy not too far away we can go there and grind out a result and you can watch the game on the 7 inch portable in the bar :)
-
Its not a bad draw certainly a winnable game for you guys Burton isnt the worse of places you could of gone cracking set of fans and a magnificent ground

not often i disagree with you mr taxi ( creamy beer apart), but i and a lot of others fully and i mean fully expected us to win at st andrews.
this is a great chance for us to claim another league scalp (technicalty, i know)
-
We just need to round people up off the streets and get them to Burton, teach them some Alty songs and give them some balloons and ripped up paper.
More people, more singing, more of the 12th man and you just never know ;D
-
Yes we do have to borrow Derby's stewards. It's incredibly embarrassing and most of our lot absolutely hate that we have to move games but it saves us money so it works for our Chairman and the club's finances. Oxford moaned like f**k last season because we had to move our home game with them to a Sunday because apparently it meant less supporters would be able to come. There were more Oxford supporters at the Pirelli that afternoon than there were for the Saturday game this season. Go figure.
Anyway...enjoy your Friday night trip to the Pirelli. It's unlikely it'll be played on the Sunday because we've got Plymouth away on the Tuesday night.
MOTWYW
-
We have a game on the Tuesday against Guiseley, we should not be playing Tuesday then playing Friday, its frankly unacceptable, the game should be played Saturday, if that's not possible then Sunday, failing that the fixture should be switched to moss lane, simple as that. This is their problem, not ours, we should make it clear that Friday is simply out of the question.
-
surely we can say no to Friday night. I'll be pissed off if our players are expected to work all week, travel and then put a full 90 minutes in on Friday night. That just stinks in my opinion.
-
I'll bang on and on about this, I know so many people who couldn't do the Friday night, it would put Altrincham at a complete disadvantage, both on the pitch, off the pitch and financially, we've worked f**king hard and travelled miles and miles in this cup already this season, we should be afforded the best possible chance to progress and our supporters the best possible chance to see the fixture.
-
Agreed mate. Friday night would be an absolute nightmare! Surely the club have some sort of say in the matter though? Surely we can't be forced to play on the Friday night if Sunday is also an option?
-
Some of our players go out on Fridays so that won't happen (it's just a joke..just a joke)
No way it will be Friday IMO, there is not one reason why we would agree to that and we would have to agree to it.
-
I think it's unacceptable that a Football League club cannot provide their own stewards
or I am on my own on this
First its delays on the M25 now this!
-
Surely they can bring in different stewards for one match ? In the wider context it isn't a massive expense.
-

I thought this... but seemed too sensible a suggestion
IF we were at home I think theyd expect us to do it...
-

My feelings precisely!
They need to sort their sh*t out and get this game played on the Saturday.
-

In theory yes, but I'm sure they can make a decent case to say they do indeed provide their own stewards...but not when Derby are at home!
I'm sure this won't be a Friday fixture really - our board and management aren't daft and we're not going to be pushed about by Burton Albion. I am sure a reasonable way around this will be found that doesn't involve Friday night with the onus on BAFC to get stewards in.
-
If we are asked to agree to play on the Friday I hope we will simply say no. Sunday is really the only realistic choice if the game cannot be played on the Saturday.
-
Pretty sure they will play it on the Sunday.
I was looking forward to a home tie or visiting a new ground, that said I do like the fact that Burton serve faggots.

Back in March 2007 we were to go to Burton on a Saturday. But this was moved to Friday to avoid a clash with Derby. Ironically TV then chose Derby v Colchester as their Friday night game. Our game still went ahead on the Friday. So this does at least prove that Derby and Burton can play at home on the same day.
If they have to move the match, then Sunday please!

Sunday all the way for me. Although I'd still go on Saturday, got a family event during the day I'd like to go to, which ironically is in droylsden!!
-
It's all very tedious may take the Monday of work and act like its a Saturday as for Friday that would be a discrace
-
The FA should not allow the day of a fixture to be changed cos a club can't organise its own stewards.
Don't think Burton will fancy this fixture too much!
-
Has anyone got any idea when they're actually going to announce whether it'll be moved to Friday/Sunday or not?
-
Typical of my luck... Have family friends coming over from Belfast that weekend... So I'm unavailable unless its a Friday/Saturday game.... (I stupidly thought it'd only be Drolysden... How selfish are Alty having a cup run!)
I'm sure they said something about always wanting to visit Burton ALbion....

The FA Cup always takes priority over the Football League, so Derby will have to move
-
would we get any compo. , if the game went ahead on the friday, cos the draw today said the games would be played on sat 3rd & sundy 4th, or can the " almighty f.a " change thier minds at will, the CLUNTS ???

That wouldn't even be true if we were talking about a shared ground - FCUM at Bury shows that. Where it's a matter of shared stewards, the actual employer (ie Derby) will have priority.

Considering the money we've lost down the years in the FA Cup, ie Crewe getting the sky live game off due to one Intenational call up, and Luton costing us £30,000 the other year by refusing to move the replay date, we MUST stay strong on this and refuse outright to play on the Friday

Unless ESPN show the game live ;D

It's been switched to the Sunday with a 3pm kick-off.
