Title: Yesterdays Support...
Post by: markecky on April 27, 2008, 09:39:10 AM
Still a bit to emotional to get into the big debate stuff...

Just wanted to say that the support yesterday was amongst the best I have seen.  We may not have thousands of fans but nearly everyone was singing and encouraging yesterday.  Even when we went 1-0 and 2-1 down they kept going.  It was truly brilliant.

You brought down tremendous support.  Big shout out to you guys who made the long trek. You encouraged your team from start to finish.

All the best from Weymouth and hope we see you all again one day. The town pubs need the yearly 'alty' boost  ;) :D

Hats off to everyone who travelled...superb support and some familiar faces on the TV with chants of Hugh Hugh Hugh etc when their faces appeared on the big screen....Fozzy looked concerned, Paul daine looked casual as he dangled his child over the crash barrier...Jimmy looked distraught..............superb guys, great effort and you could see the players appreciated it.

Take a bow I hold my manhood cheap I was not there.

I looked like a crazed man..which in fairness I was.  What an emotional rollercoaster that was.

What an emotional rollercoaster that was.

A great entry from exky there into todays football cliche of the day award.

But Ecky is right....the pain could be felt from weymouth right across the land yesterday....with halifax losing it wasn't the despair, it was the hope!

Fantastic day out for me, my lad Tom and Louise. I brought my brother from Bournemouth and his lad and have to say it was one of the best away supported games ever. It was a great crowd, very vocal and even though it took us 6 hours to get down there we wouldn't have missed it for the world. WELL DONE TO ALL WHO MADE THE EFFORT!

In defence of Mr Bradshaw, can I please state that:

(a) he was suffering with man-flu, and as he is unwilling to pollute his temple of a body with any foreign matter in the form of medicines, he regrets that he had to turn to the ancient remedy of ye old pressed and fermented juice of the apple, which naturally had some minor side effects

(b) he was also suffering with sunburn from the uncharactertic (for the UK) appearance of the ball of fire in the sky over Weymouth Bay whilst simultaneously chasing a football around on the beach, hence the headwear that he was forced to wear for the remainder of the day

Here endeth the defence's case M'Lud  :P

Seriously, a first class performance from all of the supporters, both during the game and at the pre and post match preparations  ;)

Well what a fantastic day out none-the-less, the players did us proud. Fine weather, real ale and all that great sea-scape made for a pleasurable pre-match. The eccentric be-wasitcoasted head barman of The Boot did get very defensive when asked about 'the ghost :D
Watched the first half behind the goal and the singing was so immense it was like it was being blasted through a massive PA! Terrible decision against Shotton which lead to their second goal, quickly followed by police presence which lead to us moving round to the side . Still, great to be there...let's wait and see
