Never mind undersoil pitch heating. Can’t even buy a secondhand pitch lamp ☹️

At least we now know what went on and the likely arrangements for Saturday.
Unfortunately in my tenure such helpful posts from the club were rare.
Good that we are improving ☹️

We were closely monitoring numbers in fan zone on Tuesday night. Tentatively set the max numbers at 100. Peak attendance was 90.
Realistically we should be able to increase capacity to at least 150 in there. Yea

Superb news. I’ll admit to being worried about the approach to Parky from Notts County.

Jack, I’m sure you have the right figures.
The true capacity of the Chequers end is c800-1000 depending how friendly the fans are feeling.
The calculated, theoretical capacity is wildly  optimistic.

Jack, ask Bill why we offered Chesterfield 1400 tickets.

Planning for this game envisaged high numbers of Chesterfield fans. 1400 tickets were sent to them.
Yesterday we knew just over 700 tickets had been sold.
Part of the Pop side was set aside as an overspill area as we didn’t know how many Chesterfield fans would pay on the gate.
Shortly before kick off with the away end filling up, large numbers of fans on the perimeter fence by the snack bar and away fans still queuing to get in, the decision was taken to release the Pop side contingency area.
I don’t have Cctv or electronic turnstile counting to tell me how the stands are filling up.
At half time, I left the control room and supervised the stewards evicting Chesterfield fans from the cordoned off part of the stand.
A large chunk of my time in the second half was taken up with the welfare of a paralytic juvenile away fan. This turned into a saga of third parties not willing to take responsibility for the unaccompanied, drunk fan.

Wayne, please come and seek me out. For a Saturday home game I’m at the ground by 1000 and you’ll find me in the bar after the game. Usually by 1730.
My final words to the stewards at the briefing delivered at 1245: be friendly, fair but firm.
TMBC wants to see a more professional stewarding team. So that’s what I’m trying to deliver.

For those that are able to attend away games, you cannot fail to notice the difference between how the stewards behaved at some grounds and what used to happen at J Davidson stadium.

As the ground safety Officer I am concerned to read reports of ‘heavy handed’ stewarding. Please bring your concerns to me and I will do my best to address them. I’m the gentleman at the ground with safety Officer on the back.
As a club official it is not my place to detail why things have had to change at the ground.
Hopefully the club will officially post more information to explain the new restrictions.

Thankfully your useless, safety officer is away for the New Years game. So step up and show us how to steward a game properly. I can supply you with the stewards contact details, details for Stockport stewards and a company that also supplies us stewards when I ask them. I’ll be at the ground at about 1115 for the Darlington game so I can show what I do.
A warning to any potential applicants, whatever you do will always be criticised.
Enjoy my generous remuneration package. There’s plenty of zeros in it.

If this had been a general election you would of lost your deposit!!

I'd always wondered how representative the 'fans forum' was of the Altrincham fan base, now I know.
