Another example of why relegation was truly gutting

Instead we welcome droylsden who'll bring about 1/4 of what Stockport would have...

Whilst agreeing with Ecky that we can't dwell too much this post has enlightened my post Christmas Blues. On what planet would Droylsden bring 1/4 of what Stockport would to Moss Lane on Boxing Day??

If they brought everybody who regualry watches their games they'd still be about 1/10 of it 250 v 2,500. Brilliant.  :D

The man jumped ship from Moss Lane twice

I thought the first time Dale left was with Heathcote thinking he wasnt pulling his weight.  Graham Westley said some nice words for Dale as well but I suppose Dale never fulfilled his promise.

Watch him score today with a typical header

Out of Dale's handful of Alty goals I can't remember any of them being headers?
That one in the goal line scramble at home to  Newport last season, you'd probably left the ground before that though...

I just hope that we don't welcome Dale Johnson back to Moss Lane today with any degree of warmth.

The man jumped ship from Moss Lane twice and was part of the infamous spineless team that 'bottled' Alty's most important match for years when we played Eastbourne Borough last April.

And, yes, I do still bear more grudges than lonely High Court judges......

the guy did his best for us in a tougher division, let it go

The way Dale took his goal at the end of the York game a couple of years back had a touch of class....shame it didnt shine through on further occasions :(

We move on

Oddly enough, the two goals he scored for us in his second spell were both headers, I believe.
Tamworth & Newport at Moss Lane.

Maybe next seasons boxing day fixture

if county come down

It's not looking too unlikely seeing as Stockport are in the relegation zone.

Given the size of their support, in what league would "FC County of Stockport" have to begin their genesis ?

Depends whether they're deemed to be in Greater Manchester, Cheshire or Merseyside   ;D

The rules have now changed & I believe that Stockport would start in the lower division of the North West Counties League.
