He's at an age where he'll pick up more and more niggly injuries. I suspect he'd have played and scored more this season had Chris Senior not been having a blinder. As it is, we're witnessing the slow transition. Legendary and prolific forward Colin Little passing on the mantle to a younger man, whilst still being well worth a place in the squad.

I think Colin has another season in him. It's just good that we're not totally reliant on him as we once were.

i must admit this is a load of tosh im sure it wasnt meant as a insult , but comes a cross as a nasty way of saying goodbye my lad we are exchanging you for a younger better model , unfortunatly younger models certainly dont have the experince that hes got and he still is a class player

I have to respond properly tothis thread now.

Jimbo has quite rightly acknowledged what a terrific player, goalscorer and commited player Col has been. That is not to say that he wont be around for a bit longer yet.

There is no hiding that Col is aging - as every single one of us are, including Chris Senior.

I dont think that Jimbo meant anything malicious in his post at all, he is questionning something about him not coming on on Saturday when the score was 2-2.

Please dont all jump down his throat for that. Although the comment "thanks col for the memories" seems premature to me.

I for one, a season ago, thought Col was finished, but he proved me wrong last year and came back this year and scored some more. I will not be counting him dead just yet and he certainly can and will do a job for us yet.

What is nice is that in the past we have said when Col doesnt play we will not score, this is now not true, we can score goals with and without Col which is great news for Alty. All this without Dale Johnson.

How great is it that we've got a striker of Colin Little's quality fit and ready to play his part in the final third of the season!

There's lots more to come from him this season and there's no doubt he'll do the business when called upon.

Maybe message was meant with genuine respect for Col, but i find the "thanks for the memories" part very patronising.

Hopefully he will read it and become v motivated for the rest of the season!

I seem to remember that Little has been labelled past it at some point in each of the last three seasons now and each one has finished with a flurry of Little goals that have helped affirm our place in the BSP.

I see this thread as the marking of this seasons flurry. I look forward to seeing his name on the score sheet at Gateshead tonight if its on.

Colin Little is one of the most competent players ive ever seen in an alty shirt. I think he is more than capable of knowing when his time is up. In the meantime Im looking forward to seeing his name on the sky sports news flicker a few more times.
