Wrexham - Match Thread
« on: September 09, 2015, 09:46:42 AM »

Big crowd expected at the racecourse on Saturday
http://mobile.wrexhamafc.co.uk/news/article/tickets-2675442.aspx

Thought Ryan crowther did enough to get a start on Saturday, the big wide pitch at Wrexham will mean we need some width. Luca back in contention, we'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear about the others. Counting the days to see a for clee and richman on the pitch as it suits Damien when clee is on song

Hope we have a big following for this local away game as we'll need to make ourselves heard amongst a 5,000 crowd

Alty are currently on a streak of seven consecutive away defeats, with only 3 scored against 15 conceded.

I post this because I posted a similarly doom-laden stat before the Grimsby game, and I like to think my influence was vital.

You may thank me later.

I took the liberty of scouting the pitch earlier today and the grass looked well cut and they were spiking it most of the day.  There manager has said they don't like long ball, step up that man Rankine

Inset day?

Let's play with wingers in a 451 then, could be a game for Crowther this after a lively cameo last week and memories of a good performance against 8 men there last year.

I'd suggest though if our game is long balls towards Rankine we'll not do very well - we need someone to break past him from midfield.

Dare I suggest Reevesy just behind him making late runs into the box, he did last year at Wrexham to great effect remember.

I just think we might need to change things and try something different away from home now.

We are holding our heads meetings there.  They were dominated by Lincoln last weekend and the defense looked vulnerable to their big forward,  they have lost their influential right back, I'd go rankine, lawrie and bowerman.  with a bit of luck richman, moult and sinnot in the centre mid with parry, leather , densmore and griffin.  Deasy

Without going to the last game I'm not the best person to judge however a pitch as wide as Wrexham we should play 2 wingers

Last season in second half Griff ran riot down left , getting in some great
crosses, so we defiantly need use the width .

I like the look of that system I would worry that griff does not have the pace or fitness to be a wingback that's not me knocking him he is a very good left back

Yes, Griffin and Densmore ripped them apart in the second half.

I think a point would be a terrific result, they are bombing at home.

Wrexham are used teams coming to their place and parking the bus. They've won every one of those matches.Away from home when teams have a go at them, they can be vulnerable.
We need to be positive!!
