My Norn Iron connections mean I'll always have a bit of a soft spot for him, but I'm not convinced he's the best of managers.

After his time at M*cc, the only soft spot suitable for him would be an alligator-infested swamp in Florida

I would imagine Sammy McIlroy's wage demands would be prohibitive, even if he was approached.

my stockport supporting mate said they wouldnt mind having him back even though he said he always plays midgets , peoplewouldnt want him purely on themacc basis , wouldnt bother me but doubt he will apply or be approached.

I cant see Sammy Mc stepping down two divisions. One thing that would be in our favour is that he lives locally (assumiing that he still lives in Lymm)

I don't really think its what we need, we need someone who will be able to organise and achieve and then succeed higher up when promoted without loads of money

That was (though it pains me to say it) a magnificent achievement. However, I think it was a different era then in terms of the financial side of the game and it would amaze me if another club went up to the league with such a small and relatively inexpensive squad.
