I imagine if you looked beyond the kids running up and down you might've seen maybe 4 or 5 actually taking a genuine interest and watching. Perhaps they'll come back next time and then again.....with a mum or dad too. If so it'll have been worthwhile.

Kids in the UK are often seen by adults as nuisances unlike abroad where they tend to be included in adult society.

Well Gazelle who knows, all prob living respectable lives with mortgages?

I remember Frickley "taking" the Golf Rd.................Jeez!

Younger kids are not usually able to concentrate on a game for the full 90 mins. My son is 10 now and he's fine, but when he was 7 or 8 it seemed like it would be better if the game lasted for half an hour! They have bags of energy and they don't tend to understand the subleties of the game, they just want goals and action. Also when there is a crowd of kids they will tend to mess about as they pick up things off one another.

We need to get them young though, leave it too late and its "the Premiersh*te" on Sky that will be their football world. So, if we want new fans, I think we have to accept what comes with it.

So do I, totally. I really don't wish to put a negative slant on anything but this season is about 46 league games, not 2 over the Xmas period. Games like yesterday are the ones we should be looking to get the points in.

Remember significant trouble with Vics, unfortunately Alty lead one night in about 76 or 77, but never much since.

Had aggro at Macc a couple of times but again we're talking late 70's.

The Witton cup final at Drill Field was a bit weird, nener really got to what started there?

Memorable matches for me are both cup replays, Sheff Utd and SC**thorpe the second time which took us to Anfield.

Stewarding is excellent, helpful and professional.

They seem to be able to get results despite all their troubles. Could be a tough one, although I hope not. It has to be better than the game at their place last year.

Certainly recall southports food being crap, aren't their burgers orange?

Seem to remember a cheeseburger being about 50p dearer than a plain one too, the extra being for a slice of processed plastic cheese.

Anyone stopped off at the Station Bar and Buffet at Stalybridge......you can get a dish of black peas in there.

Well as its so slow on here today, must be the lack of a weekend fixture.

Best food anywhere?
Worst ever?
Burgers, hot dogs or Pies?
Pricing  of match food?

Best food....Gainsborough's pie, chips peas and gravy. Kidderminster was good too a few years back.
Worst ever....I have a dual one here, a so called meat pie at Gateshead years ago, contained cold mushy corned beef, and what can only be described as a "nothing "pie at Wakefield on the basis there was no filling in it apart from a smear of dubious brown matter.
Pies...everytime, especially a decent meat and potato.
Pricing, some places really take the piss, my view a pie should be no more than say £1:60-£1:75, AFC Wimbledon charge £2:70 for a crappy burger.
