I used to smoke 20-25 a day and had tried to stop several times. I managed it after my second child was born some 10 years ago. Basically I succeeded because I really wanted to. Other attempts were a bit half hearted. Once it was clear in my head that I was going to do this I actually found it quite easy.

Tips....one day at a time, then a week at a time etc.
Avoid habitual smoking situations, eg after a meal, with a pint etc.
Throw all the ashtrays away, or get the wife to hide them.

Good luck mate, if you do it you won't look back. :)

I'm miles away now but I alwayus used to go to the chippy by the market, dead old fashioned, dining room at the back. Hollands pudding, chips mushys and gravy in a tray. S&V on top. Sublime. I can taste and smell it now. Other favourite was chips and curry from the Chines in Sale Moor, a nightly essential after an evening in the Legh Arms.

Just nipping out for chips.................. or do either of the above deliver 220 miles away?

If we win do we get a supermarket sweep thingy? I'll go for a home shirt plus a directors style coat!

Here comes tactical posting.

Thing is who were the extra 800 or so.....old fans, interested locals or what? I expected about 1500 for this one and was simply astounded by the gate. If these extra fans are out there we need to try and keep and nurture them. What could we achieve with a 1400 or so average gate?

Being exiled I'd love one, any chance the club could do a deal, say 4 for price of 5 ?

As Vics brought 450-500, good turn out too TBF, where did our extra 900 or so come from? That's like double the usual, so why can't they come along more often? I'm not local now so not sure if well marketed, but whatever there is a very tappable market there. Just 100 of that extra would bring in £1000 a game plus progs, pies etc. The lads clearly did the biz this time, (how often have we gone t*ts up in front of a big crowd) so lets hope and pray some come back.

Also, seen on the vid Vics in yellow...........what happened to tradition? Yellow slime!!

Really wish I could've been there yesterday, watching on BBC text is somehow not the same. The my space vid of the penalty helps though, cheers Withy Alty. Must, just have to do FGR though? To many of us now its as vital.

Had a bit of a crappy Xmas here , family stuff, so thanks Alty for shining some light on it yesterday ta.

The early rounds of the Trophy have attracted low gates for years, especially since it moved from Wembley. Look at Saturday, 349 at Grass Green Rovers, 881 at Stevenage. Even the 1576 at Exeter is poor by their standards and the 2600 or so at Aldershot was boosted by 1200 or so AFC W fans. Don't forget its nearly Xmas plus season ticket holders must pay and are only counted if they come along too!

Not there today living where I do but results are clearly slipping lately. I have to agree with Jimmy mind, as I'm sure all at Alty play for the shirt not for anything else. We all have bad days so let's live with it. GH knows the score and I'm sure the lads will be aware of what is needed .

If that Histon score is genuine then my day is made, my tw*t of a brother in law supports CU as his second team ahead of Chelsea, after all he lives in Huntingdon, So Chelski would be the obvious fisdt choice. CU next Tuesday!
