is GH on a mission to buy every player we have ever shouted abuse at?  ;)

tinson, elam , banim, who next Clare?

If he bangs a few goals in during the next few games and puts himself in the shop window into the bargain, that's OK isn't it?*

As long as (given his track record of moving on) we don't get 'too attached' ! :)

Can't imagine the Golf Road adopting him as our long lost hero.

can we still shout "you fat b@stard" at him?

I knew GH was going to bring someone in today, but didn't expect Banim!

He and Denham caused us problems a few times when they played for Droylsden, so hopefully they do the same for us!

This was definately needed though seeing as Col and Senior are not going to be back for a while.

Absolute genius of a player in my book.

Tricky as hell with an eye for goal.

Wonder what his fitness levels are like...they have never exactly been high when he played every week!

I am happy with this as long as his effort on the pitch matches that of the other 10. No reason to doubt it wouldnt though to be fair.

Of course you can ... especially with an ironic twist as he completes his hat-trick against the Green Gits! (He says hopefully)  ::)

Great loan signing in my opinion for the following reasons:

1) A truly natural goalscorer
2) Knows and has played previously with Chris Denham, therefore they should have a great understanding

For me, his arrival should also see Denham given a start for precisely the reason given above. Well done to GH for acting quickly after the injuries to Col and Chris!

A shocking indictment of the 'youth' of today  ;)

PS: He's 28 years younger than me so I've got a reasonable excuse  ::) ;D

For Radcliffe Borough, Banim scored 97 times in just 125 appearances.  At any level that is some going...

Fingers crossed that we all benefit from his time at Moss Lane.

I will stick my neck out here and say that if we create lots of clear cut chances for him he'll score more than he misses. It's fair to say he might be lacking a bit of match fitness but touch and finishing are qualities that never leave a player and in my experience Banim is one of the best natural finishers playing at this level.

I reckon this will prove to be a fantastic move for all concerned.

Well what a shock this is...

At Droylsden last year he scared the absolute crap out of me.

I concur with Ecky and ALTY 1981 in welcoming this news.

I've always enjoyed watching the skilful Banim play and with that physique, he could develop into the new Tunnacliffe....

Quality signing, look forward to watching him play for us. Hopefully he will form something with Denham, does anyone reckon Burton will let us extend the loan if he is doing well?

Yes he's always been fat mercurial.

I nearly crashed my car laughing on the drive home when I remembered Raccy Boy and how utterly devastated he would be, this would be worse than his "Neill Hardy wasn't at your trust launch and he's not leaving Raccy"  :D

Ballers,

Do you recall that other poster who used to watch Radcliffe Borough by the name of Owd Tower?

He used to come on here claiming to have watched Alty in the 1960s and proclaiming the might of Radcliffe Boro.
Thank God we have left those dark Unibond days behind us....

HUCKNALL TOWN   - The money worked didn't it!
DROYLSDEN - Feeder club
BARROW  - Excellent club
ALFRETON TOWN  - WHo's a dinosaur you f**king prick?
HARROGATE TOWN - Give it up now.
SOUTHPORT  - Excellent club
WORKSOP TOWN  - Told you your chairman was a knob
LANCASTER CITY  - Gone
VAUXHALL MOTORS  - I still can't beieve we ever played these
GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY  - ok
STALYBRIDGE CELTIC   -  Not big enough for the conference
RUNCORN FC HALTON   - Gone
ASHTON UNITED  - Lovely club, but again we actually had to play them!
WHITBY TOWN  - ok
MARINE   - NPL all over
BRADFORD PARK AVENUE - hmm
SPENNYMOOR UNITED  - Gone
BURSCOUGH - Village
RADCLIFFE BOROUGH - Heh
BLYTH SPARTANS - hmm
FRICKLEY ATHLETIC  - My God.
WAKEFIELD AND EMLEY - Gone

I remember him, and all the others well. Some right bell end clubs in amongst that lot. And whilst I had time for a lot of the clubs who were full of perfectly nice people the fact that we have played those clubs means we deserve every bit of good fortune that comes our way.

If you're ever in the sponsors lounge at MOss Lane there's a picture of a Unibond game, Bandy is playing up front against some tosh and in the background of the pop side corner that we go in when attacking the Chequers end, it's very sparse and sums up why we must never go there again.

Crikey, cos of tv and segragation we can't even get in that part of the ground.

The Unibond was so bad that we welcomed Burton int o it just because they were a decent club, regardsless of the fact it would make our task harder. At least when we merged into the Conf North there was some semblance of it being a league, with the likes of Kettering, Nuneaton etc.

I used to hate Phil Power for all the damage he did to Alty playing for Macc. I was absolutely delighted when he then signed for Alty.

If Jody Banim can give us one months worth of what Phil Power gave us in his first season I would be equally delighted.

We usually hate these people because they are good, or of course if they are complete bell ends.

Banim falls into the first category. I think he will work well up fron with Denham and Jonson, even O Neill up there supporting him.

Great News, hope he's fit.

Just a thought: he does not seem to get many appearances for Burton. If he is a success can we afford to keep him?

Agree with most of those club descriptions apart from
Hucknall...very friendly club with a  fantastic fans and a very nice chairman's wife never got smug on their success.
Stalybridge...One of the nicest non league grounds
Ashton...dump

It has been on Burtons official site since yesterday so its not just rumour.

My guess is that he has agreed it but not yet physically signed.

And because we like to do things right then we won;t announce it until he has.

There are other clubs on the verge of extinction who may offer him a 3 year deal for example.

Both Torquay and Burton don't think he is good enough to play at this level. The only club he ever had any real success at was Radcliffe Borough. At 30 years old he really should have reached his peak. He will be ok as cover for injured players but nothing more than that.
