Good to see large parts of the pitch under covers already including the golf road end 18 yard box
Alty 2/5
Draw 4/1
Mickleover 4/1
-
Good news indeed with the forecast decidedly grim. Mickleover gave us quite a test at their place, but if we beat them there, we should get three points at home.
2-0 Alty (Poole, Densmore)
Attendance 808

Guessing the only decision is Richman or Harrop?
Hope we start with the urgency and tempo we started the 2nd half on Saturday.
Alty 2-0 Mickleover. Hulme Johnson.

No mugs these and a very big (even by Evostik standards) and physical side, we did well to hang on at their slightly odd ground pre Xmas.
Kind of side at home we need to be putting away though, I reckon 3-1 Alty with 815 present.

Altrincham 5-0 Mickleover Sports ATT 798

Four predictions with an attendance range of only 17 is probably a forum record.
-
Yeah, I remember them being tagged as “ The Bench Press 11 “ at the way game....should have been tested for steroids.
-
The covers should be back off again until Friday night as it seems we'll have a good dry spell now.
Comfortable win for the Alty I think (and hope).
-
Leave them on too long and it will kill the grass.

The forecast for tomorrow isn't too clever. do you folk think a pitch inspection will be necessary?
Just asking as I usually set off around 12.30

I'm guessing that if a pitch inspection were necessary it would be a good bit earlier than 12.30; I imagine they'd set off from Derby by midday?
As it happens I usually set off around 12.15 so I'm hoping (a) no inspection will be needed or (b) it'll be early!

No concern at the moment Ray.
All bad areas tucked up for the night.
As always though, we are in God's hands.

A lot of games off.
-
been raining all night after 2 dry days. A real shame
-
A big shame after the work put in. I reckon if we’d have played today then Tuesday night would have been a write off. I’ve requested pictures of the unplayable areas so I can share with all.
-
FFS
We will still be playing games in June at this rate.Tuesday game must also be at risk with frost and snow forecast.
-
What are referees looking for?....bowling greens?....this is football ffs, it's meant to be played on muddy pitches.....
I bet the huge crowd enjoyed this cracking match which would have been deemed 'unplayable' by today's beaureacrat officiandos

Curzon Ashton, Salford, Southport off the top of my head.

The weather for Tues doesn't look good plus their is a chance of frost as well.

Stourbridge v Shaw lane is ON
-
We should have asked the ref who deemed the surface against Witton playable to carry out the inspection. He'd have probably passed it fit to play on.
-
Unlikely we'll still be playing in June or even May unless we slip into the play off places. I don't know if it is still the case at this level
but there was a time when players contracts were only up to the last day of the regular season. In 2000-01 season after a very wet
winter the Isthmian League clubs voted against a one week extension for that reason. That left Hendon with a schedule of three games
on the last day only one of which was played. One other club should have played two but only played one. The table for that season of
42 games shows Aldershot Town, Billericay Town, Sutton United and Harrow Borough each played 41 and Hendon 40.
