Probably the most improved team in the league over the last three months. Unbeaten at home since 12th October (though they've only played four home games in that period).
Overall, their 12 league games since that defeat have yielded 5 wins and 5 draws. Their only two league defeats in this period have been by the odd goal away at both Boston and York. That's very decent form.
I'd like to think we could win, but my head says a draw will be a decent achievement.

Very big game. Certainly hope to see Mahon start, preferably instead of peers but probably Wall. Can't wait see any changes after that.
Kettering 1-2 Alty. Hulme, Hancock
-
We're cak away. Can see us losing this one unfortunately.
-
My local game.
Don’t expect the pitch to be great, and expect the facilities to be worse, although they are gradually improving bit by bit. Went there for the Kettering v Diamonds derby last season, attendance 2,000 ish and ground couldn’t cope In the slightest!
Two pubs in Burton Latimer (Olde Victoria and the Dukes Arms) if anyone is in the town before kick off. There’s street parking available in the area around the ground
Try and ignore the smell, it’s just Weetabix, whose factory is immediately to the rear of the ground.

It's got to be an improvement on the stench from that chicken farm at Leamington !

I've taken over these recently so if anyone can think of anything they'd like to see featured, give me a shout. Want to make them as genuinely interesting as a non-league match preview can be!
-
It looks pretty comprehensive to me. I was going to suggest bus info but it appears in a link at the bottom anyway

It's a decent piece of work Andrew. Only thing I'd like to see is a note of any nearby pubs that welcome visiting fans (the Schooner was the highlight of the day at Gateshead - maybe I should have stayed in there 😂)
-
Pitch inspection at 10am tomorrow according to my pal, he said he doesn’t hold out much hope
-
He’s a volunteer and long time Kettering fan by the way not just someone surmising

If only all clubs arranged pitch inspections well in advance.
-
Unfortunately, though, Kettering did arrange a pitch inspection against Hereford nice and early, a couple of weeks ago, which was passed by a local referee.
However, when the match referee turned up, he agreed with Hereford that there was no chance of the match taking place. I am not going, but hope there's no repeat tomorrow.

I can certainly look to include a feature like that for away games, no problem. Cheers!
-
Just looking out of the window at the sleet. But the good news is it's fine in Kettering. Fingers crossed....
-
Kettering's pitch has passed the 10am inspection but they're doing another at 2.30.
-
It's a dry day in Kettering, so here's hoping.
-
I see the official site says that the 2.30 inspection will be carried out by the match ref. Can anyone confirm that this is the case? If it is, we should be safe to travel if it passes that one.
-
Bit odd considering its not forecast any rain.

Bit odd considering its not forecast any rain.
That's probably an indicator that the pitch is in very poor condition.
-
Could someone at the club establish if the 2.30 inspection will be the final, decisive one and that it will be the match referee making it? Really worried about the possibility of the match ref turning up at 6.30 and calling it off.
-
It wouldn't make much sense for the same local ref to have another look at 2.30 when he's passed it at 10 and the weather forecast is dry. Could well be a different local ref but really hope it will be the match ref, though I guess we'd be lucky if he's available so long before kick-off. Any info the club can find out from Kettering would be a huge help.

The 2,30pm pitch inspection will be made by the local referee that carried out the 10am inspection.
The match referee lives over 100 miles from Burton Latimer.
There is no guarantee that the 2.30pm inspection will be the final inspection, however you would have thought that if there is any doubt, the game would be called off then, to prevent Altrincham players & fans & the match officials travelling.
-
Thanks Brian. It would be very odd if the pitch failed the 2.30 inspection but it's anyone's guess whether the match ref will pass it. Into Spennymoor territory here...

I think that we are, although at least there is an afternoon inspection & the local referee & match referee are communicating with each other, it seems.
-
Its sunny here about 3 miles away. Bit cold and windy but bright sunshine , I cant see how the pitch will have deteriorated from 10am to 2:30pm and don't see how it would from now till Kick off given the forecast.
-
I hope to be wrong but I fear defeat.
-
Come on ALTY, need to up our away form, tough match but we can get something from the game.
Listening on RR tonight as cannot get to the game.
-
Peers keeps place, Mahon in for Wall and Hampson in for injured white.
-
Good win at Kettering we’ll done lads..
Telford next up...
-
Another fine win - well done lads and well done to the 60-70 away fans who braved a wet, freezing cold Tuesday evening in Kettering.
-
Great win that lads, particularly as Chester lost at Gateshead - Wack, Wack Oops

Buzzing I predicted it wrong. Big result.
Happy about the Chester loss, cocky nob heads.
-
Great Result well done to all
JJ The grass is not always greener on the other side. ;D
Only 5 points behind Chester after Gateshead win 2-0
-
Excellent result on a poor pitch against a team who were in good firm.
I was only listening to commentary tonight, but a word of praise for Josh Lundstram who seems to be quietly very efficient in all his games.
March 21st will be interesting.
-
Excellent result.
Go again Saturday

To be on the losing side at Gateshead is unfortunate. To be on a totally different losing side there only 10 days later smacks of carelessness ;D
-
We did have a plan B tonight.
It was good to see. All around me enjoyed it, can’t say anymore.
Brilliant result.
Glad I’m not working on that pitch tomorrow
-
Excellent result, well played lads and good support away from home. On to Saturday now.
-
Great performance that on a very difficult surface. Intelligent stuff, we never tried to over play it and played our stuff on the bits we could. Everyone of the ran their bollocks, special mention for Jordan Hulme who as a forward ran a marathon on that pitch last night
-
Jordan was phenomenal last night, as were Moult and Lundstram who won their battles all night long. Really good away performance that.

Josh Lundstram really stepped up a gear last night. He's got every chance of making a decent career in the game. Also good to see Connor Hampson put in a good shift. I said a few weeks ago that Lewis Walters would have a role to play, and there were certainly some promising signs from him.
-
I'm sure the irony is not lost on a lot of people that someone like JJ would have typically struggled on that pitch last night.

On which subject, I would welcome the thoughts on Mahon's performance last night from anyone who was there. I thought he put in a good shift last Saturday when he came on.
fantastic 3 points in a match we would expect to lose most seasons - away in January against an in form team - this team has got bucket loads of character
