Title: Will York make it for Tuesday?
Post by: Nonleaguer on January 02, 2010, 02:14:36 PM
Apparently they are stuck on the M6 at 14:10 with Stoke expecting a FA Cup tie at 15:00. Expectation is that Kick off will be delayed. Ex Port Vale player (Martin Foyle - York manager) has had to travel all of 5 miles from his Newcastle, Staffs based home. Perhaps he could have put a few of his players in his spare room??

I do feel for York at this time, missing their big tie, but it's still pretty hilarious.

Police escort now bringing them down the A500. Interestingly most of the York fans already at the Brit but the team coach didn't leave until 10:30???

I know, but I'm sure we are doing everything we can to get Tuesday's game on

Today is very interesting as Stoke have put out a full strength side due to their recent lacklustre games. If Stoke actually beat York convincingly, we may be on the end of the backlash on Tuesday night.

There again Stoke still remember the days when they were despatched by Blyth Spartans and Telford Utd so I'm personally not expecting a whitewash unless it's the snow of course!

They will get smashed 5-0 and that will destroy their good run and they will come to Moss Lane with an FA Cup hangover.

Not beyond the realms of possibility that he may move in the January transfer window, if any clubs are already in talks, he may be "rested" to protect their asset. If he has a good game today it will only enhance his chances of a move up the leagues!

They seem to do well with attackers York, Brodie, Donaldson, Bishop and Woodford I think it is at SC**thorpe too.

And not forgetting Joe O'Neill ;D

Stoke levelled within 30 seconds. Parslow own goal from Delap throw. Perhaps we try this on Tuesday. Another long throw Fuller heads in for 2-1 lead.

Fulham v Swindon today, crap game but a superb turnout from Swindon, estimated at 4500 and as loud as it gets.

The sky reporter said round about the same on soccer Saturday. Do you have a season ticket for Fulham, or purchase ticket on day, you go to a few of their games.

My 13 yr old is a Fulham fan so I take him when I can and when the prices are acceptable. Its probably the most accessible Premier League football. Plus its only 45 mins from my house on the train/tube.

We've been to all the Europa League games at on average £20 for me and £5 for him, Basel was a fiver each. You really can't argue with those prices, dearest was Roma, at £25+ £5.

Sadly, even if they are able to make it, I doubt there will be a game, it was -9.5 degrees at Woodford during the night, it will take quite a long time to defrost the pitch and the weather is not set to improve!!

There is no chance of the game being played. The grass in Timperley is frozen solid.

given that yorkshire is the capital of ignorance I'd not be too surprised if the team bus was leaving right now...

For 20 grand we can hire the Barcelona reserves stadium, although it only holds a meagre 15,000 people.
