If the game on sat against luton is drawn when would the replay be:-
tuesday 11th september or tuesday 18th ????
-
It will be the 18th as replays have to be at least 10 days after the original game. This applies from the 1st round onwards.
Anyway, what replay....we'll win on Saturday!
-
If there was a replay, wouldn't there be good chance it would on Sultana?
-
FA cup replays should be on the monday directly after the saturday at 7.30pm . anyone who has an opinion to the contraire is wrong.

Bloody hell, I know the FA are inept, but surely they could sanction a replay before next Autumn? ;) ;D
Should be a good day out for you next Saturday. Replay? Well anything can happen I suppose, pressure is well and truly on Luton (the apparent League2 big fish).
Good luck to you (where's the smillie for choking on your post when you need it? :D) anyway ;)

God has spoken....will the FA listen?

absolutely, and if for no other reason it should be so because it allows you to keep the momentum, not allow the opposition a week to sort themselves out

Gazelle is right Monday Nights at 730 were perfect. We are unbeatable at Moss Lane. (Although no doubt some stats man will find otherwise!)

Didn't we play league games on a Friday evening about 20 years ago ?

no

Saddo statistician here:
1) Until we lost at home to Darlington in 1983, we'd never lost (home or away) to a Fourth Division club. I'm not sure we've ever lost away to a club from the bottom flight.
2) I remember reading programme notes from a game in 1967-8 where we had experimented with playing a game on a Friday - but had decided to discontinue the experiment as the game with Hyde had pulled in a disappointing gate of "only" 2500.
I do remember going to Worcester on a Friday evening in 1982 for an APL game that we lost 3-4 but that was fixture congestion, rather than a "Let's try Friday". We beat Trowbridge 2-0 on the Saturday before heading off to Wembley a couple of weeks later!
-
Most of our home games were Saturday afternoon and then Monday Evening 1930 kick off.team used to train Tuesdays and Thursday and i know after the Thursday session it was a pint in the Moss.
-
monday is best because you can gatecrash party night at chequers after the moss chucks out,
and as for the suggestion that there is more than one god, the answer is
there is only one god, all others are false gods and imposters, there are several ways of worshipping the one god but in the end the trick is to pick the one that is in charge when you really need him or her or it . dont think i will back one with nine arms though

This actually had me thinking about our record against teams in the top flight, or rather the intitial meeting with them (discounting the replays). Unless Wolves were in the first division when we played them in the 60s our record is p5 w1 d2 l2.
Statistically, if we were to play a Premiership team (away from home) we're more likely to get a positive (draw or win) result against them than lose. Not sure many non league teams can say that!

Ballers,
Wolverhampton Wanderers were in the old Second Division when Alty played them in January 1966.
-
think you forgot liverpool there
its p6 w1 d2 l3
shame i was about to claim we are unbeaten away from home against teams from the top flight

Spurs also did us in 1995, therefore it is four defeats.

Still about on a par with Derby County last season

Have you lot got FA Cup fever or something? You're supposed to be the wise old heads.
The key words in the post are "initial meeting" and "discounting the replays" ::)
-
So Ballers do you fancy us at 5.3/1 to beat Luton on Saturday?
-
No.
-
lump on it
-
Think if we got someone like rotheram or grimsby we could really look at the match confidently from a fans point of view as theres a good chance of an upset,
the thing that worries me about luton is there players will see this as an opportunity to give their fans something to cheer about this year not as a break from the league as others do.

If we had drawn Rotherham we'd had got murdered. Take away their points deduction and they'd be in the top three of the league!
-
If we'd have got Grimsby we'd have murdered them, they haven't won yet. Think it's drawn 6 and lost 8. They are away at Morecambe in the worst tie of the round.

What about Histon to beat Swindon? I,m sure Swindon will enjoy their game against Histon.
