Were these lads connected with Leek Town, Port Vale?

What actually happened today?
in a nutshell we were having a drink after the game in the pub next to there ground and around 10 to 12 lads decided they wanted a fight it all turned nasty outside and kicked off

lets hope no one was badly hurt
we all got on the taxi safely

Sorry to hear that - Mad Frankie noticed more than few were trying to get up to our end 2nd half by attempting a 'friendly' conga - stopped by some serious looking stewards. Obviously once they'd gone home it was open season outside the pub. Hope everyone's ok.

All of that said of course, someone in  our end decided to throw a pint glass into their goalmouth first half. Top work from 2 'heroes of the night' to retrieve it and point out to the culprit it wasn't the Alty way.

To be fair to him he was pretty intoxicated when he threw it and you could tell he regretted it afterwards

No doubt, but it could've been very nasty, not least for any of the players, our reputation and potentially the club's finances. Just saying it was gratifying to see a couple of Alty stalwarts step in and deal with it - no fuss.

The friendly conga was stopped by the police who turned up and stood next to their fans for the last 20 mins

To be honest, i am getting sick of trouble in non league football.

The thing is trouble can quickly spread before anyone can do anything about it.  Years back at Farnborough, some Cockney lads popped round our end to say hello.  Something out of nothing becomes an issue.

Halifax fans dressed as the Three Wise Men caused bother in the Golf Road End a few years back.  Wrexham a couple of years back obviously wanted some feedback from our end fans as well.  Chester is another story this season.

Altrincham are still a name in non-league football
and that's the worry for me just want a good time at the games nothing more

What I don't understand is if you want to fight, fair enough, but why start with people who clearly don't want any trouble?  Go and fight with someone who wants it. It's a shame because I actually enjoyed Leek and the game, but it takes the shine off it now. People need to recognise, we really don't want any trouble. Just a good sing song and a laugh.
