Port Vale having idiots is of course familiar to many of us from that FA Cup tie back in the 90s.

On a related note I see there was (very predictably) a bit of trouble at the Chester-Halifax tie today.

Who'd have thought a properly run, big club like Chester unable to effectively steward inside their own ground eh?

Was just about to say that, as per usual, on Deva Chat all blame was attached to the other team...what a surprise eh?

To be fair to Chester it seemed to be 20 Halifax fans that charged the Chester end.

In terms of today don't want to comment on what I haven't seen but that game should have been segregated.  Wouldn't have stopped any trouble after but sounds like it could have turned nasty at the match.

Sorry if it offends the "ooo we're all friends in non league world" brigade but segregation is needed in cup games in backward places.

To be honest, i am getting sick of trouble in non league football.

The thing is trouble can quickly spread before anyone can do anything about it.  Years back at Farnborough, some Cockney lads popped round our end to say hello.  Something out of nothing becomes an issue.

Halifax fans dressed as the Three Wise Men caused bother in the Golf Road End a few years back.  Wrexham a couple of years back obviously wanted some feedback from our end fans as well.  Chester is another story this season.

Altrincham are still a name in non-league football
