I'm afraid that if Mr. Doughty thinks Chris Lynch was 'very good' either he was watching a very different game from the other side of the pitch or his standards are not the same as mine. As far as this season is concerned Tuesday evening was the nadir for me. That's not to denigrate Hyde in any way - they played well, within the (considerable) limits of their capabilities - but had little or nothing to beat. That's the sad part - even after going ahead there was no feeling that the lead would last, and once the equaliser went in the final result had an air of inevitability. I was praying that we wouldn't equalise, to be honest, so as to avoid another 30 minutes of what might kindly be termed mediocrity. The only good thing about the evening was that Hyde priced it right - £5 for adults, £3 concessions and £1 programme was fair to those fans who turned out. I suspect we may see something of a reaction tomorrow - but only if the players actually have any pride in their own performance. The jury's out on even that as far as I'm concerned, which is a condemnation of something ... Moan over.
