I always felt some sympathy for Hoddle. The man strikes me as a bit of an arrogant bell-end, but essentially he was sacked from the England job for having an unpopular religious view.

Tactically he was always a good manager and his efforts to improve the technique of young players is admirable. Still, I can't see this link-up being all that fruitful. In fact, having already become Manchester City's suburban outpost and now this, Hyde are in danger of becoming a bit of a laughing stock.

Hasn't it been widely reported that his academy has been losing money hand over fist, pretty much since it's inception? They've placed only a couple of relatively unknown players, recouping only nominal fees (cue PR about "It's not about the money") and when they took over that Spanish club...all the fans who had supported them for years didnt want to know. Now they try the same failed model back in the UK? Wouldn't let this venture anywhere near ML in my view...talk about flogging a dead horse.

It certainly seems to have downgraded rapidly, the spanish club to Stockport to R&D to Hyde.

As Ecky said I'd give it to xmas as everything involved with Hyde seems to end up on its arse nowadyas, they've had ashambolic couple few years.
