I had to miss yesterday's game so that Jennifer's mum could suck (up to) Nick Clegg at Hawick RUFC which is on (wait for it) Mansfield (yeuch!) Road.

She mamaged to confusificate Mr Clegg (who was there without his friends Foggy & Compo) as I was taking the photos for her she asked, "Are you ready Nick?"

Cleggy thought she meant him! Oh, how we laughed!!!

Anyway, he said I have a good name!!!!

Who is Nick Clegg ?   ::)

Politics answer to Accrington Stanley ?

As we are name dropping I was sat just in front of snooker player Sean Murphy and his sons at the recent Man United v Leeds cup match.

Anyone else seen or met anyone famous recently ?

Your mate must be clumsy if he bumps into somebody as fat as Fry !

Surely, the plural of 'oaf' is in fact 'oaves' and not in fact 'oafs'.  ;)

..... my mates uncle is Noel White .........
I went to school with your mate's cousin then (ie Noel's son). Sorry to say I can't remember his first name (we called hime Chalky - imaginitive lot we were!) but I do remember he had the hardest shot in the school.

I delivered Colin Bell's papers. Genuinely nice bloke.

Having done a few TV quiz shows, and had a number of well known people in my cab, I'd say the nicest celebs I've met were Jimmy Tarbuck (genuinely funny), the late Richard Whiteley (an absolute gent), Denis Law (drove him to Taunton - he bought me lunch, and the football crack we had was absolutely top), and Alvin Stardust (great company).

On the other hand, Angus Deighton was a complete a**ehole - really up himself.
