Instead of threatening to walk moaning you've pumped £3m in and 2,000 aren't coming to watch the mighty Dover in 9th, how about you be realistic, cut your cloth accordingly and get on with being the chairman of a small part time team....

Don't worry Mr Parmenter . Next season there will be thousands at Dover...

The only problem is they will have all come across from Calais. and will be kipping on your pitch  :D

Instructive to learn that a club whose home attendances are c300 less than ours and who are often quoted here as an example to follow, have benefited from cash injections of c £300k a year for over a decade. Clearly we don't know what % split of this was spent on club infrastructure and players' wages, but I think it's reasonable to say it does go a long way to explain their success since regaining their 'National' status at the same time as ourselves. Irrespective of his FL ambitions, I think we should bear in mind that our actual / projected annual losses of £30-40k for this period are effectively10% that of Dover's average if not for their chairman's subsidy.

Although we are mocking him I'd be f**ked off if I was pumping millions into my local club, making them a decent side and people don't turn up

it was his choice to put the money in, it's the non-fans choice not to come and watch. did he really think he could buy supporters just by putting money in?  football club owners need to have the same perspective as other sports promoters. sometimes you just have to cut your losses.

I'd expect if for example Alty were near playoffs they would have 500 more

True Jim but it isnt just about having a decent side.  Looking at the Dover forum there are numerous reasons why people arent coming.
