Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Fixture release day

I'll take anything as long as we're not playing Good Friday at 3pm, especially now I've bought a season ticket - 1 more match I've already paid for that I wouldn't be able to attend

Why's that? Sounds a bit fishy to me.

The already undermined Good Friday Agreement is being ripped up as we speak. Great shame, but not going Alty v Yeovil would be a weird kind of protest.

Do you have a cross to bear?

Agree, agree, agree. Thanks Alty TV for these great interviews , and all the other stuff you produce.

But special credit must go to John Edwards for bringing the best out of his subjects. It's a fine and very rare gift. Seriously. Dial-up any random footballer interview on whatever platform you choose, it'll be bland crap, mostly. Thanks John, the art of interviewing...

..Parkinson.

I really hope Curzon do well (win it/ play-offs), a lovely club. And the best non-league 'out of town' newbuild ground. (Stadium).

Anyway... players come and go and that's part and parcel. Plaudits, if due, then pastures new, as they say. But I'd love to see Max Harrop become the player he knows he should be, even if it's elsewhere. Absolutely top bloke, his celebrations at Boston showed his devotion to the cause.

Unfortunately, ultimately, it wasn't to be for Max and Alty. And, obviously, the right decision to end the relationship. I'm sure he wouldn't disagree that he was given a fair chance to stake his claim and never quite grasped it.

Think he'd do well as the pivot in a more 'blood n' thunder ' team. (Some sort of  'Games Workshop' thing).

Thanks Max, sincere best wishes...

Tony, back four and Jake and a front five of Mooney, Kosylo, Ceesay, Hancock, Hulme. Sharing goals and assists left, right and centre.

Viva Alty!

Massive apologies, John. My bad, and considering my intention to praise the the interviewer, a pretty stupid one.

Mea culpa, you erudite f**ker.

Just watched Matt Gould interview. Again, hat's off Brian. Brilliant.

 Welcome Matt, you erudite f**ker.

I'm watching these one by one, and looking forward to calling Jordan an erudite f**ker.

Brilliant, Brian. Footballer interviews are usually completely banal. This was something else. Sincere thanks.

Matty, welcome aboard, you erudite f**ker!

Think the 'coordinates' poster is fantastic, dead cool. I'll get one of it.

About 5/10 years ago there was a series of 'next fixture' posters (online only) that were absolutely brilliant. I remember chess pieces for Bishop Stortford, and a tram to Droylsden. If the genius graphic designer who created them is still around (and hasn't lost his/ her touch) perhaps they could, please, return for the forthcoming season. And make available as actual posters to buy. I'd buy all/ most/ several but, more importantly, so would loads of other people.

If the original collection is available to view somewhere I'd really appreciate the coordinates.

Logically, sightlinewise, sitting down should be in front of standing up. But never is.
Just a different perspective...

I think his 'impact' flattered to deceive. A goal every ten minutes or whatever - brilliant, obviously. But he'd boot the ball in the net then do nowt else (and kicking a pen. in the net isn't something anyone should be heralded for).

I'm not downplaying his contribution, and hats off to the man for it. I wish him all the best. But it was just time and place. File with Greg Wilkinson...

Ceesay for Durrell? Isn't really a question.

We've been operating at less than 20% capacity for a heck of a while. Even before the increased rating it has been rare for our average gate to be more than that (I. E. Over 1200 odd). The new rating means that now rises to over 1500? So no away fans perhaps and we'd be fine.

Good point. Admit I hadn't thought of it that way So, if 20% means anyone who wants to go the match can do so then great, let's go...

re away fans.  We are in the Greater Manchester special measures zone so no bugger from elsewhere can come anyway. Only County would be able to bring fans.

(I'm aware of the contradiction between the above two statements. One is daft).

Don't start the season until it's deemed 'safe' for anyone wanting to go the match, to do so. What's the point? Closed doors/ 20% capacity defeats the whole object of a football club. And I can't see how it would help financially.
I know the 'deemed safe' bit is contentious, I'm not getting into that. Hopefully it will happen before 3rd Oct. Just don't play football with nobody there.

While the Pools Panel decides A-level results... King's Lynn did not win the league.

New defenders? Toby Mullarkey will be a  bona-fide Alty legend in ten years time. Solid defending, of course, plus casually meandering the ball from defence to attack (via, perhaps, a mad foray down the right wing). I don't know how young he is, but he's not old. When he adds booting it in the net to his repertoire (which, y'can tell, he'd love to) he'll be The Man, For all seasons, hopefully...

I like to think he was named after the coolest of Alty  defenders : Graham Tobin. [I know there's been many cooler Alty defenders, eg Davison/ Owens/ Crossley etc. but I can't think of any that would inspire a parents to name their child Toby].

I know a bloke called Stan Alan Mullarkey. He's a bit of a dick.

re the above three posts - totally agree. Dave Pace was a  great pantomime villain. The Chesterfield saga was brilliant. Fair play/ hats off to the man.
I'd be interested to hear more about the 'incident'...

 They won the Manchester Cup...

Thanks, and hats off to Alty TV.

The last couple of scenes (dressing room/ outside Moss Lane) are beautiful. Great to see the players are fans.

I don't  know if that's Connor Hampson cavorting about having got off the team bus, or a Connor Hampson lookalike. I love the idea that a fan would put on a hairband and that black bra contraption as a tribute to a left-back. Equally, I love the idea of players singing and dancing with fans.

  Viva Alty, and Alty TV.
