A lovely lovely man.  His deep and abounding love for this football club was obvious for everyone to see.

Taken from us way too soon, and there's another space on the terraces and on the coach that cannot be filled.

Rest In Peace Mark - and thank you for everything you have done for this club we all love

Mickey Brooke converted to a 10 due to John Rogers injury scored a rare goal.  (Also scored in that position the previous week against Netherfield).

« on: August 03, 2020, 02:27:00 PM »
Isn't it great to be an Alty fan right now?   Even with reduced capacity, we are talking about the possibility of selling out our home games.  This is super motivating and exciting - bouncing!!

We are likely to push the adoption of e-ticketing further, including for season tickets which will almost certainly therefore be plastic cards.  This will help us with track and trace among other things.  We are planning for the unknown to some extent, but one possible scenario is "Advance ticket sales only" - we will put in place processes to handle a number of different scenarios.  We want all of you back inside the ground - safely and securely - and once more lifting this team to new heights!

A lot for the board to do this week - we will be looking to get updates out when we can as the week goes on.

And for Mr Saughall, Altrincham 3 Witton Albion 1 Att: 7290.    The previous season the Cheshire League Title showdown  Altrincham 5 Macclesfield Town 0 Att: 7329.  And the season after, the Cheshire League Title decider that went against us Altrincham 0 Macclesfield Town 2 Att: 8721

The first season of the APL. We of course were champions and Weymouth second.   Somewhat poetic that we come up together!   Who were third?   Boston United!

Its certainly the first time we have done it without playing a League game there!

Thank you for your feedback - I will try to provide some clarity.  Each club; home and away are allowed 10 "guests" - these include the Directors and Officials of the club not formally involved in match day activities.  It is at each clubs entire discretion who these 10 guests are.  They are, as Andrew says, very strictly confined to the Amber Zone and are not allowed into the Red Zone (Pitch, Dressing Rooms, and the like) under any circumstances.  People in the Amber Zone are not required to be tested but must complete a medical questionnaire, have a temperature check and not be displaying any symptoms.

We worked very hard with the League, the FA and the local Council to get the Chester game staged, and to have the opportunity to go to York.  We (including me personally) understand the rules and regulations - both football and medical - around the staging of these matches very well.  This has been our prime focus in the weeks leading up to the announcement of the playoffs and our qualifying to be able to take part.  Specifically, if our protocols for match day were not well enough defined or properly executed we would not have been allowed to move to "Stage 3" which is the holding of matches.

We have two Directors who are not able to attend, and we have verified that these two places could be made available to our fans at our discretion.  And that is what we are looking to do here.  If there is strong negative feedback, we will shelve this initiative and not take up our full complement for the visit to York.

But please be assured that we would not jeopardise the health of our players, staff and supporters and their families for the sake of "a quick buck".  In fact  there are decisions that we have already taken behind the scenes in the run up to the Chester game, and the game itself that could have made our life more difficult but have been the right thing to do for the security of our players and staff.

« on: July 20, 2020, 01:33:57 PM »
The King George will be showing the Altrincham v Chester match on the 19th July at 3pm.

The match will be shown on 14 TVs across the pub as well as the big screen!

We will also be donating £100 to the Alty fundraiser for each Altrincham goal scored in normal time (90 mins)

Thank you very much from the club to our near neighbours in the King George.  You will be glad to know we eased up at 3-0 to prevent further strain on your wallet.  I nipped in after the game, and I can confirm that the Alty faithful had had a great time watching another historic Phil Parkinson achievement.  It would be great if you could contribute to our crowd funder.  The link can be found here:

A bright shining light for the club has been extinguished.  He has been a magnificent servant to the club over many many years.  I first came across him in the seventies and really got to know him sat at the front of the coach on the way to away matches in the early 70s.  At that time he worked with my grandfather and uncle at Shell Carrington - thus he could get away with calling me "Billy" which only he and my granddad did!  I played in front of him in the Alty Supporters team and it is fair to say I'd get 90 minutes of intensive coaching through the game.  Certainly he gave that coaching wisdom to many many better players than me over the years.  Its going to be hard to imagine the club without him.

You are right to say there are risks, but we have to assume for now that the playoffs are going ahead.  We are in daily communication with the National League and with most of the Playoff clubs; North and South.  We will spend money in a controlled way to make sure we are more than ready when the games are finally confirmed.    There's a lot to do, and we are jumping through every hoop we need to in order to enter the Playoffs in the best possible shape

I last saw him very briefly at Noel White's funeral.  His Wembley goal is one of the iconic moments in our history.  Another legend leaves us.  RIP Mike
