Go down on the Friday, book yourself into a little dishevelled B & B run by some guy who's belly hangs over his jogging bottoms and make a weekender out of it! :)
-
there is no point in him booking with us its along way from knighton to weymouth and we dont have scrumpy
-
No scrumpy?
-
Friday to monday is a good option if you can spend that sort of time down there, I presume a lot of couples will be doing it as a weekender
Depart Fri 09.24 arrive 15.15ish using the cross country bournemouth train and changing at winchester or southampton, returning at 13.20 on the monday lunchtime, currently 31quid via nationalrail enquires website

no scrumpy but its a band b with a dishevelled owner whose beer belly hangs over his trackie bottoms.
it always used to be the carlton (does it still exist) for weymouth a handy 2 quid taxi ride from the all night kebab shop or 60 yard walk for those in the know. I am still mad about that for those who remember the incident, 2 quid was a lot of money in 1985. Did i ever tell anyone on here about my goal at weymouth oh and we put bobby moore in the boot............................................................................happy days

Gazelle, of course I remember.... that supporters game was amazing. They barely managed to team - we loaned 'em at least 2. One was Phil Boyne who managed to knock me out on halfway requiring a visit to Wythy A & E when we got back. - the nurse commenting "you've got a very hard head Mr Seller!
Worst of all was near the end, a goal line block with my wedding tackle - "those were the days my friend" (sing in high pitched voice for effect!)
hey ho and away we go - at least Daisy's younger sister is evidence that no permanent damage was done. Daisy was already on the way by then!

gazelle did you tip the taxi driver. last seen that night you were on beach heading towards the sea. as for nick after all these years i would like to say sorry for sending you to hospital.

Nice one mate, i'm going to book that! :)

thought you were admin, twiggy

If you go on the National Rail Enquiries website make sure you book two single journeys, ie, one journey there and buy the ticket, then book a separate single journey back.
It will cost you £16 to go down on the Friday (11:24 train from Piccadilly) and £16 to return on the Monday (13:20 from Weymouth). If you want to get back on the Sunday however, be prepared to spend- £81. But shouldn't be too expensive providing you can get the Friday and Monday off work.
Just the B&B with the grubby man to worry about now! ;)

Might I suggest, as a soft southerner that you might contemplate staying over in Dorchester rather than Weymouth? It's rather more compact than Weymouth and has several really good pubs, which serve Eldrige Pope, the Dorchester Beers, as well as a couple of Palmers Pubs (brewed in Bridport) and Hall and Woodhouse pubs (brewed in Blandford). It tends to be more friendly, with less Royal Marines.
It's also easy to get the Weymouth Ground(which is on the edge of the town on an industrial estate) by bus from Dorchester.
Exeter play them on Easter Monday, and the kick off has been put forward to 13.00, and all the publicans in the area have been asked not to open brfore kick off. Exactly the same thing happened last year when we played them on Boxing Day, so we circumvented the ban by drinking in Abbotsbury before and after the match. Good luck. John Hollins is pulling lots of strings to strengthen their squad, by the way.
