Last week's answer:

In a singles tennis tournament, 111 players participated. They used a new ball for each new match. When a player lost one match, he or she was eliminated from the tournament. How many balls did they need?

Answer: 110 balls

Last brainteaser:

George has a fan to cool off from the summer heat. The fan spins at a maximum speed of 40 mph and is controlled by a 360 degree turning knob. Assuming the fan is spinning at 15 mph, how much would the knob have to be turned in order to go at a constant speed of 25 mph?

Your question is unclear as to what type of fan George has got to cool him down.

Is it an Altrincham fan or a Wrexham fan ?

If it was an Altrincham fan he would take a lot longer than than the Wrexham fan.

As you enquire as to how far you have to turn the 'knob' ? I assume that you are refrring to the Wrexham variety ?

Therefore the answer is 'Not Very Far' !    ??? ???  ???

If 0 to 40 mph is 360 degrees every 10 mph increase is 90 degrees

Therefore to increase from 15 degrees to 25 degrees would mean a 90 degree turn ...

Thank christ this is the last one -  roll on the start of the season ?
