Ouch indeed - only a few years ago they were the best team in the division at our level and were only denied promotion to the Conf Prem on ground issues. Someone else can also correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they also get to the FA Trophy final in 2004 or 2005 ?

Interesting as always is the Jim Rushe circus - 109 at Stafford today when playing Leek. I assume Leek made up 50% of that - How does Rushe continue to fund this despite being personally bankrupt - answers please to the local constabulary

I can't have too much sympathy - I remember their directors "giving it large" after a win at Moss Lane towards the end of the 2003-4 season.  No class.  And no staying power.

At what point can a league tell a club that they are not upholding the required standards? Starting with eight players makes a mockery of the fixture and has a ludicrous goal difference advantage to the team they are playing.

Secondly, what do the rules say?  Do the rules of the game say you must start with eleven, or is that the maximum number of players?

Laws of the game govern players - max 11 and from what I remember no fewer than seven. I recall Sheff Utd (aka the Blunts) finsihing with 7 players in a game not that long ago.

League rules though may stipulate what the starting number must be
