Barstaff. FFS
what barstaff?

A bar like that would need a bar manager and many more paid staff than the we have at present

no point having this facility if we got nobody to run it

I think you deserve great praise (in a twisted kind of way) for somehow managing to find a negative thing to say about one of the best things this club has done in years.

It really takes a certain kind of person to do that.

Absolutely fantastic! I know its 2 years away until it may even be looking like opening but 1 single advertisement in the messenger would get at least 15 applications.

Jamie, here is a promise right now. When the new bar/building is built I will run the bar for all functions, sports practices etc etc including all the "behind the scenes" work on a full time basis to ensure that when you walk past on a Thursday afternoon you have no excuse to have a go at the board management for a lack of ambition/staff to fully manage this exciting project.

I daresay there will be a more official summary elsewhere, but a few things are worth pointing out.

Unless the funding is in place, the project will not proceed.
The project will not be allowed to be a financial millstone round the club's neck.
The potential sources of funding are to be different from just Alty fans.

It is a very ambitious plan, but very well thought out and we aren't going head first into it.

It take a certain kind of person? At least I go to the games

I am not negative just suggesting that we can't expect Jenny to run this all on her own, so there will be additional running costs

Jamie, not wishing to fall out or anything but I think you've missed something. This facility as I understand it will be in use all day, all week, and as such I expect will need a number of employees. No one is saying these people are definitely funded by the club either, but I suspect the bar facility will be available not only to the club and as such will have the personnel to run it.

You could attend the meeting, you were 500 yards away. I put a synopsis on here as soon as the meeting had finished.
