A Hyde Fans View of the FA Cup

"Today was yet another missed opportunity in a catalogue of Hyde United FA Cup failures spanning well over a decade. Every year I get excited by the FA Cup and every year Hyde let me down. And every year some glorified pub team gets themselves on the TV playing in the first round proper against a league team and in front of a big crowd and an even bigger TV audience. And each year I hope that it will be the turn of Hyde. Except it never is."

So glad I'm not reading stuff like that this season!

Their disappointment with the FA Cup goes back further than that: 125 years ago this very week Preston North End 26 Hyde 0!

Hyde drew didn't they? I know Harrogate is a tricky place but that's a bit ott.
