I fail to see the point of this thread

ALTRINCHAM 3 NUNEATON BOROUGH 0,  F.A. Cup 4th Qualifying Round match October 2001

One of the finest goalkeeping displays I have ever seen on a football field.  Still got the picture from the SAM showing Stuart celebrating with Bernard, what makes us love this club.

I fail to see the point in this comment.

I presume you're trolling!

FJT1980 hits the nail on the head. That performance was nothing less than spectacular. How Stuart never got a gig higher up the pyramid I'll never know, but am wholly thankful. There was one save in particular against Nunnie where Stu seemed to defy every known law of physics and almost turn round in mid air.

Stu's ability and rapport with the fans and respect for the club make him a true great of Alty FC.

Seem to recall Stuart having trials down at Crystal Palace and Leicester City.....their loss our gain.

Ex GK will tell you that keepers get better with age, make smarter decisions and do things like be in a better starting position to take crosses / stop shots etc - which is half of the battle.

Ah now, if only that had been true of Ian Senior in the last match in which he played for Alty...!

Left back, he struck the shot from about 50 yards just inside his own half if the story is true.

Any idea how close he is to breaking the clubs all time appearance record.

By my calculation he will break it in February 2015
