3,007 there to see them beat Workington 1-0.
Potential for one of our biggest crowds in years when we play them on Bank Holiday Monday?
-
I think they would have expected more than that with them reducing it to 1992 prices.
Still a great crowd though of course.
I'd expect them to bring 1200 with them on Monday in crowd of 1950
-
Hopefully they'll all be accommodated on the proper away terrace, allowing the home fans to move down the popular side....
-
I'm hoping we can muster about 1,000 home fans. Optimistic, perhaps, but we've done it before and with it being against a well-known team at this level and on a Bank Holiday we must have a chance. I know some non-regulars who are going along.
-
Looking foward to it alot actually!!
I love standing in the golf road end and seeing a full away stand, i just think about all the money for the club!
I predict an attendance of 2100... 1200 of them from Chester
Kieth better get a big pie order in!!! ;)

I think the only way this will happen is if they move the fences down the popular side which they should do but I doubt they will.
They will have to leave the that last third free as they could bring 1500. Whilst the official numbers make say 1400 or whatever it might be I think that terrace is pretty full with 1000 in.
Just a note for any Chester fans reading, we've seen it with other big clubs when everyone tries to stand right behind the goal and thinks the terrace is full. Whilst from the home end can see there is lots of space to the right as you look at the pitch. Keep walking to to the end and then up and you'll be fine.
Despite my previous criticisms (which I stand by) or the awful segregation policy for 50 people in bobble hats from some outpost, Chester are a rather different kettle of fish and I am sure that GMP and Cheshire Police will be having a big say in what happens.
-
If 1200 of them did turn up then it's nearly as big as our highest attendance last season
-
Wrexham brought around 1,500 a few years back. Surely Chester will want to beat that? Especially as they're a bit closer ;D
-
I'd be interested to know how many fans Chester brought in 92 for the FA Cup replay. The Chequers End was pretty rammed that night.

About 600

Looking forward to seeing Wes again.
Did you know he calls his right foot 'The Wand', must have been misfiring when he got us relegated two seasons ago.

I hope it's his foot he's referring to!
I've seen Princess Holly's wand in Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom and I know how that can go wrong!

The 'd' should be a 'k' based on his "efforts" here. The Times gives the gate as 307. They obviously thought the correct figure was a misprint.

I think you will get a really decent crowd as it's an attractive fixture, a derby of sorts, and there are no Football League fixtures that day for some reason yet it's a Bank Holiday so everyone wants a bit of football.
Actually I thought you might have done that "Football League Season Ticket" discount thingy again for this one.
I am coming to Moss Lane for the game as long as I can survive a trip to Barnet on Saturday which is easier said than done as it will be a heavy session and I'm at that age where hangovers last 2-3 days.
If I do manage Barnet followed by Alty and manage to make it into work on Tuesday then I reckon some kind of medal is in order!
-
Be great if we could get a bumper crowd and a bumper result :)

Really looking forward to this one! In footballing terms we owe you big time!
If I see/hear about Clive Freemans 'wonder' goal again, I'll scweam and scweam and scweam!
This has the makings of a great derby - this is one of the 'big ones' this season. Only an hour on the train, £10.30 return,
station not too far from the ground, quite a few pubs on the way and a decent chippy outside the ground.
There's no reason why we can't bring at least 1500 to Moss Lane and make it feel like a home match.
Lets show them what an away following is!
Chester fans are all talking about this awayday and this is before our 'Welsh Derby' with Colwyn Bay on Saturday.
Any Alty stattos out there who know your highest attendance over the last 5 years (league and cup). Any pubs you might recommend?
Thanx in advance

In 2008 we had a crowd of 2,619 for the visit of Wrexham. About 1,500 of them were Wrexham fans.
Best of luck trying to better it ;D
