My non-league directory gives Altrincham 1 Stretford 13 on 4th.November 1893 !

I can't remember anything worse than 7 by (Morecambe and by Woking) in "modern times" though I have seen us SCORE 8 against Northwich once (I missed Merthyr unfortunately !)

I missed yesterday but have seen us concede 7 at Morecambe and Woking.

And at home to Slough Town.

If we'd have had a forum after Slough it would have melted.

Record defeat as Altrincham FC is in all probability Chester 13 Altrincham 2 (Cheshire League, Nov 30th 1929). Overall I don't think anything beats the Stretford 13 Broadheath 1 referred to earlier. Of reccent times Alty 3 Slough 7 (GMVC, Oct 19th 1991), Morecambe 7 Alty 0 (GMVC, Feb 17th 1996) and Woking 7 Alty 1 (GMVC, Nov 30th 1996) come to mind.

I was there, believe it or not we had 18 corners that day too.

I wasn't there, and I'd forgotten about it, but if memory serves the match reports suggested it was actually a pretty even game ! Didn't the dreaded Ovard get a hat trick ?

I'm sure when I was a nipper back in the 60's. Sankey Wellington put 10 past us final score 10-1

You can't defend 7-2 but we weren't that bad that day!

Ah yes, Alty 3 Slough Town 7 during that wretched 1991/92 season.

A match that Ken McKenna played in for Alty.

Not the greatest day of reserve goalkeeper Steve Roberts' career....

Was that the match that Mark Hughes sprinted the length of the pitch to chin a Slough player which obviously led to a red card?

joe,

No, you're thinking of this bizarre game:

Saturday, 13th January 1996
GM Vauxhall Conference
Altrincham...0
Slough Town...1

The woeful referee, Gary Shaw, sent off three Alty players that afternoon: Barry Butler, Mark Hughes and Greg Challender.

Haven't we got any nice records?

I know this isn't one at all but wasn't our 5-0 victory over Salisbury nice last year...

Wretched is a good word to describe the 1991-92 season. Absolutely f**king sh*t also does the job!! Interesting that only the Maidstone game that John Crewe refers to is the only one of these seven goal nightmares that led to a change of manager. In fact as bad as we were under stan allan weren't we in a relatively comfortable position in the table for a long time?
