The Ladies got off to a winning start this afternoon
Goals from Laura Dodds, Kye Brown and Kate Bryan allowed a 3-2 victory in a hard fought game on a warm afternoon against a sommited and workmanlike Chorltonians Team
Many Thanks as always to our burgeoning support who provided exceelent encoragement throughout the game
-
Good luck for the season ahead.
-
Well done girls, first hurdle cleared, keep up the good work
-
I go quite often to watch with my daughter as she plays for one of the Junior teams and learns a bit more each time by watching.
Today first away game watching the Ladies it was one of those games where you have to grind out a result but an excellent all round
team performance with 3 or 4 plyers in my opion that could have got player of the match.
Cannot make Wednesday night my daughter has a friendly before there season starts on Saturday.
-
Next Ladies fixture is scheduled to take place this coming Wednesday September 7th at Mersey Valley Sports Club
Kick Off is scheduled for 6.30, admission is free
We hope to see as many of you as can make it
-
Sadly, due to an isue with Curzon Ashton's player registrations this evening's home fixture has been postponed.
The next Ladies fixture now is this coming Sunday when we travel to Stockport Sports Village (Woodley) to take on Stockport County Blues
Kick Off 2.00pm, all support more than welcome
-
Looking forward to this Sundays game vStockport County Ladies Blues at Stockport Sports Village 2pm ko on pitch 11.
Why not come down and support the girls?
#coyr

The Ladies continued their promising start to the Season with a 6-3 win away at Stockport County Blurs.
Goals from Kate Bryan (3), Megan Wright (2) and a first goal in Altrincham clours for Jade Hesketh were enough to clinch the three points
Although it's still very early in the season the Ladies are third in the League with a game in hamd on the teams above them and boasting one of only three 100% records in the League
-
A tough result to grind out, on a bizarrely narrow pitch where the edge of the penalty was a mere 6 yards from the sideline.
Made it hard for anybody to get any time on the ball, however some intelligent through balls and switches from one flank to the other really helped, and the Alty laddies took their chances well.
-
The Ladies next fixture is this Sunday, 18th Sept when we welcome down to Mersey Valley newly promoted EgertonFC Ladies
Egerton are old foes from our Cheshire League days and games between the two of us are often eventful
Ko is 2pm & the clubhouse is open from 12-30 as usual
We really appreciate all and any support so please, if you have some spare time come down and cheer the Ladies on!
-
The Ladies trained very well this evening in advance of their forthcoming home fixture against Egerton on Sunday
We sincerely hope that some of you will feel able to come and support us
Many Thanks

are any of the defence free for Saturday by any chance?
-
Don't forget this coming Sunday 18th Sept we welcome Egerton LFC down to Mersey Valley Sports Club (M33 5SL) kick off is 2pm and the clubhouse will be available from 12.
Egerton last season got promoted from the Cheshire Womens Football League after finishing runners up to Runcorn Linnets, and will provide another tough game for our girls.
Lets keep this little run of ours going and keep believing that anything's possible.
We would love to see as much support as possible to cheer the girls on, the girls do appreciate it.
See you all down at Mersey Valley on Sunday.
-
It's a lovely day for Football today so why not pop down to Mersey Valley Sports Club and watch the Ladies take on Egerton from Knutsford in the NWWRFL
Kick off is 2.00pm, the Bar will be open and your support very much appreciated
-
Having gone a goal behind via a penalty and very much against the run of play the class of the Altrincham ladies told with the final outcome a 4-1 win for us.
Goals from Kate Bryan, Magan Wright (2) and Laura Kelly proved that good football played the correct way will almost always triumph over the more rudimentary style employed by some clubs

The Ladies travel to Ellesmere Port Town in the League this coming Sunday
Kick Off is 2.00pm
Any and all support will be hugely appreciated
-
Ladies trained very well again last evening.
Hoping we can take it into Sunday and extend our good start to the season
-
Unfortunately, despite taking an early lead via Georgia Plant's header, it was one of those days for the Ladies today and our winning start to the season came to an end with a narrow defeat at Ellesmere Port.
We will however dust ourselves down, regroup and move on to next Sunday when we "welcome" FC United of Manchester to Mersey Valley.
-
The Ladies are training tonight in preparation for our game this Sunday when we take on FC United of Manchester Ladies
FCUM always bring a significant number of supporters and take immense pleasure in poking fun at the fact that they have more fans than the home team.
So, if you would like to both see the Ladies play and try to redress the balance a bit / shut them up then please come along on Sunday.
Kick Off is 2.00pm at Mersey Valley Sports Club.
I am also pleased to advise that our recent victory over Egerton has received coverage ion the back page of this week's Messenger.
-
Ladies trained well last night and are looking forward to the challenge of FCUM this Sunday
All support will be most welcome. Bar Open from about 12.30
-
Sadly, despite a superb, gritty performance the Ladies were narrowly defeated today losing 3-2 to a very accomplished FCUM Ladies Team.
Despite the result it was a performance of which every Alty player can be proud in a superb game to watch
Onward now to training on Thursday and a trip to Liverpool next weekend

There is a report on yesterday's Ladies fixture, provided by FCUM Ladies on the Main Site.
Very impressive and very fair and balanced it is too.
Have a read about what you may have missed or, if you were there what the opposition's view of things was
-
The Ladies again trained well this evening in preparation for Sunday's visit to Liverpool City Ladies.
Tonight we were joined by two of the Under seventeen team who were gaining experience of open age football.
Both did well, as have those who have been down to earlier sessions.
The future is, I believe, looking positive
-
Just expanding on the final point of the previous thread, today i went to watch the Girls Under 15 team play
Despite being defeated by a team containing a number of Academy Players from "bigger" Clubs they were excellent from first minute to last
If we can keep producing players and teams like this then the future is indeed bright
-
Today the Ladies returned to winning ways with a hard fought 3=1 victory at Liverpool City Ladies
Goalscorers were Lauren Dodds Jade Hesketh and Kate Bryan
It's wins which you have to fight for which show the progress we have made
-
There is a report on the Ladies recent fixture versus FCUM Ladies on the back page of this week's Sale and Altrincham Messenger plus a photo.
This is another excellent report by Isle of Man Journalist Paul Hatton

Despite going behind three times the Ladies fought back on every occasion to record a draw against Liverpool Marshalls Feds Reserves yesterday afternoon.

Also an excellent save by our keeper Lizzie Brereton.
It's nice that we get to see Lizzie showing her ability on video as most of the clips we see are at the other end of the pitch

This coming Sunday the Ladies embark on their League Cup campaign when they welcome Manchester Stingers to Mersey Vallry
Stingers play in the Premier Division of the NWWRFL so this will be a significant challenge for the Lady Robins
Kick Off is 2.00pm and all support will be very welcome
-
Sadly.despite a spirited fightback fro, a three goal half time deficit the Ladies were defeated in their League Cup fixture this afternoon
It is to the immense credit of the Ladies Players that they caused significant problems to a team operating at a higher level and could, given altered circumstances have emerged with a different result
-

There was no disgrace losing to higher division opposition in the League Cup. Alty Ladies are a work in progress. The aim is this season is to finish in the top 6 of the league(of 12) with maybe a promotion challenge next season. We are currently 4th in the table at the moment.

Excellent work. Congratulations to all concerned.

Thanks,
We try to get the ball down and play the right way. We are fortunate to have an excellent Manager, Coach and coaching team and some very good players who can put the plans into affect.
I would say come and watch if you weren't so far away

The Ladies again trained well yesterday evening in preparation for our visit to Warrington Wolverines on Sunday
Recent contests between the two have been great games to watch as both teams have a similar philosophy as to how the game should be played.
Kick Off is at 2.00pm at the Wolverines new home Grappenhall Sports Club and all support is very welcome
-
Today the Ladies were on the wrong end of an 8-2 scoreline at Warrington
Three of the goals may well have been offside but that still leaves five and Warrington were deserved winners
Their new Manager appears to have changed the way they play so, it wasn't the sort of game I anticipated in my previous post.
We move on now to next week when we host Curzon Ashton in another League fixture
-
After last night's training session the Ladies are preparing themselves for Sunday's visit of Curzon Ashton Women to Mersey Valley
Kick Off is 2.00pm and, as always, all support is welcome
-
Despite dominating for around 75% of the match the Ladies were defeated today.
Curzon Ashton scored with their only shot on goal, an excellent left footed strike into the far top corner which left Lizzie helpless.
We move on to a Cheshire County Cup fixture against Witton Albion next Sunday.
Huge thanks once again to our growing band of supporters
-
Curzon Ashton seem to be doing really well in all areas, men's and women's teams. Hope Alty can replicate the success soon.
-
Well we will be doing our best to redress the balance when next we meet them at their ground later this month
-
Unfortunately, due to recent inclement weather conditions our Cheshire Cup fixture tomorrow has been postponed
-
Over the past 6 months we have been working hard with Rachel (Girls football co-ordinator), the junior girls section of the club and specifically the U17's to try and bridge the gap between junior and senior football, we have had (and will continue to do so) girls from Steve and Andrews team down to our training sessions on a Thursday night to get them used to the transition. All the girls have trained hard and as Steve and Andrew have said its now showing and benefiting the girls when they play for their own team on a Saturday. Last night a bit of history was made as Megan Rowley became the 1st player to make the transition into our squad, Megan (or her new nickname Junior as we have christened her) has excelled when she has been down and I'm sure will continue to flourish with us over the coming season. She will still continue to play for her team on a Saturday but will also work with us on a Thursday & Sunday to continue her build up into womens football and will be available for our squad selection. Megan will take the No.12 squad number
-
This coming Sunday we are scheduled to take on Witton Albion in the Cheshire FA Women's Cup at Mersey Valley
Due to it being a cup fixture, in order to accommodate the possibility of extra time and penalties kick off is
1.00PM
The Clubhouse will be open from twelve noon
Any and all support, as always, will be greatly appreciated
-
The Pitch at Mersey Valley has passed this morning's inspection
So, if you want to get your footy fix for the weekend why not come down and watch the Ladies in Cheshire Cup action
Kick Off 1.00pm, admission is free and the Clubhouse will be open from approximately noon
-
An exce;;ent finish by Laura Kelly saw the Ladies defeat Witton Albion and progress to the next round of the Cheshire County Ladies Cup.
The 1-0 scoreline arguably flattered Witton who really struggled to cope with some of the football they were up against
-
After our 1-0 win yesterday over Witton Albion we have been drawn away in the next round at Premier league Birkenhead LFC
Tie to be played on the 15th January 2017
-
I have created a section on the board for Alty FC Ladies, it's only fair that each section of the club has its own board 👍
-
Thanks Gaz
-
Ladies trained well last evening in preparation for our game this Sunday when we take on Stockport County Blues at Mersey Valley, Kick Off 2.00pm
As always any support will be most welcome
-
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome 2 new signings to the club both of whom have joined us from Cheshire league leaders Chester FC,
First up is Marcia Sacharewicz , Marcia is a pacy prolific striker who was the Cheshire leagues leading goalscorer last season and leads the way again with 12 this season before her transfer over to us.
Second up is Centre Half/Right Back Tish Collins, Tish is a tough ball winning defender who always wants the ball and has the quality to bring it out of defence to start the play, she has played for Stockport County LFC and last year played in Runcorn's title winning Div 1 team.
-
The Ladies descured a hard fought 1-0 win this afternoon angainst an obdurate Stockport County (Blues) Tea,
The winning goal was scored by Brogan Walsh in a game which also marked a very impressive debut from Megan Rowley the first player to graduate from Junior set up to First Team
-
And here, courtesy of our Isle of Man correspondent Paul Hatton is the goal

Unfortunately, due to reportedly adverse conditions our fixture away at Egerton tomorrow has been postponed.
Next scheduled fixture is on December 18th when we welcome Ellesmere Port Town to Mersey Valley
-
Sadly today's game at Egerton fell foul of the recent rainfall and was postponed.
Next Sunday we entertain Ellesmere Port at mersey Valley - Kick Off 2.00pm

Can we stop this ladies stuf on the men's forum

This being a page where news of the Ladies Team etc can be accessed, I would suggest respectfully that if you don't want to know about it then don't click on the page
Quite a few folk are interested though and grateful for some way to find out information
Merry Christmas

All and any support will be greatly appreciated.

Today Alty Ladies travel to Broadhurst Park to play FC United in North West Womens League Division 1 South. Kick off is at 2pm and it will be played on the 3G pitch next to the stadium. Any support for Alty Ladies would be gladly appreciated at this intimidating venue.
-
The Ladies lost 1-0 at FC Utd in a tough battle with the title challengers. Alty are currently 6th in the table, 14 points behind the leaders Bootle and FC Utd, but 12 points clear of the relegation(bottom 2).
Next Sunday the Alty travel to Birkenhead Ladies for a Cheshire Cup 1st Round tie. Birkenhead are a Division above Alty but are currently bottom of the North West Women's Premier League with 5 points.
-
Despite the narrow defeat the Ladies played extremely well qnd FCUM certainly knew that they had been in a game.
The equivalent fixture last season resulted in a heavy defeat so the progress we have made is tangible.
-
Tomorrows Cheshire Cup 1st Round tie at Birkenhead is subject to a 11am inspection due to the recent wet weather.
-
Unsurprisingly Alty Ladies game at Birkenhead has been postponed due to waterlogged pitch. It will now be played next Sunday(weather permitting)
-
Last evening saw the signing of Sophie Carolan.
Sophie is a young pacy, strong r/midfielder who also can play upfront. She has good pedigree having been at Man City and latterly Stoke City before her move. Welcome to the club Sophie.
-
Today the Ladies travel to Bromborough to play Birkenhead Ladies in the Cheshire Cup 1st Round, (1pm kick-off) hoping to reach the Quarter Finals.
-
Alty Ladies are through to the Quarter Finals of the Cheshire Cup with a 1-0 win at Birkenhead. A 79th minute goal from Sadie Powell was the difference between the 2 sides after she converted a fine run and cross from Laura Kelly.
-
An excellent performance from every player whether a starter or a substitute.
Clearly the better side and a deserved win.
Thanks are due to our ever expanding band of supporters
-
The Ladies have been drawn away at Tranmere Rovers in the Quarter Finals of the Cheshire Cup. The tie is due to be played on the 19th February.

That aside we were beaten but not embarrassed by a better team, arguably the best team in the NWWRFL
Positives were plentiful. Until the concession of a debatable penalty, although we hadn't caused them any major threat neither had they threatened excessively.
Despite the scoreline and the pressure they put on we continued to play the "AFCL" way never resorting to lumping the ball upfield and chasing it or trying to kick them off the park.
We scored a goal!
The Bolton coaches and players were fulsome in their praise of our performance and attitude.
Disappointed but not downhearted sums up my view of events liberally seasoned with not insignificant amounts of pride in the players and supporters

This week sees us start the big build up to our Cheshire County Cup Q/F tie v Tranmere Rovers this coming Sunday 19th Feb.
The game will take place at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, CH65 9LB with a 1-30pm ko.
We are all looking forward to testing ourselves against opposition two divisions higher than us to see how our progress is going.
On the injury front Anna Dillon is still out long term after an operation on a torn rotator cuff, new signing Sophie Carolan has a fitness test on Thursday at training after a ankle injury and Sadie Powell will also be checked after a slight tear in a leg muscle.
More news will follow as the week progresses.
-
Today Alty Ladies travel to Tranmere Rovers Ladies in the Cheshire Cup Quarter Finals. FT Alty 1 Warrington 3.
It was quite an even game with Alty seeming to cope with Warrington's kick and rush tactics. The visitors got lucky in the 33rd minute when a long range wind assisted shot flew into the top corner to give them the lead.
Warrington continued to pepper the Alty goal with long range efforts until they got lucky again just before half time, when their striker was first to react to the Alty keepers fine save to make it 2 nil to Warrington at half time.
Warrington sealed the game on 50 mins with a penalty after their player was brought down in the area.
Alty were given a lifeline on 63 mins when Jess Hartopp took advantage of a goalkeeping error to make it 1-3. Alty then dominated the rest of the game and had a couple of good chances to rescue a draw from the game but the visitors held on for victory.
Alty remain 6th in league after this defeat. There next game is in 3 weeks time.

FT Feds reserves 1 Alty 3.
Goals from Laura Dodds, Megan Wright and Marcia Jones-Sacharewicz seals a very good away win for the ladies
-
And a very well deserved win it was too.
Alty;s superior fitness (big up to John McManus and the players) on a sticky, energy sapping surfave, allied to perseverance and belief proved too much for the hosts.
Although not a scorer Megan Rowley's incessant movement and pressure allied to the excellent running of Georgia Plant and Megan Rowley basically drained all the energy from the Feds defence allowing the creation of oportunities later in the game which were taken clinically
-
Match Report on Sunday's excellent victory as produced by Paul Hatton
Two goals in the closing stages saw Altrincham Fc register an impressive 3-1 away victory against Liverpool Feds at I M Marsh Sports Centre, Aigburth.
Although the result was about the superb all-round-team performance, it was the first-team start of Megan Rowley, who recently came through the junior ranks, which really impressed, chasing every lost cause in the attack and giving the Feds’ defence a torrid time.
The match was a tight affair in the opening stages, before eventually opening up. Liverpool had the first chance when a Feds’ player’s low effort beat goalkeeper Lizzie Brereton. Full-back Kyeshia Brown raced back to make an important clearance of the goal-bound ball.
Megan Wright twice went close with efforts, just off target, for the Robins. However, it was the Feds who took the lead on the half-hour mark. Following a cross from the right, Amie Hands nipped in to tuck the ball inside the right post.
After the break, Alty got the much much-needed equalizer on 52 minutes. They were awarded a penalty following a handball, Laura Dodds dispatching the resulting spot-kick into the bottom left corner.
Altrincham dominated the match thereafter. Kate Bryan had an effort that hit the crossbar and Wright had two more chances off-target. Victory appeared to be slipping away for the Robins until they struck on 89 minutes. Following a corner that was half-cleared, Alty recycled play, Dodds passed a ball behind the Feds’ back-line for Wright to sweep home from close range.
With the match in added time, Altrincham scored the deserved third. Full-back Tish Collins intercepted a Feds’ free-kick and played a ball over the opposing back-line. Marcia Jones-Sacharewicz latched onto this and expertly placed the ball into the net for her first goal for the club and wrap up a memorable afternoon for Altrincham FC women’s team.
-
The Ladies travel to Knutsford today when they visit Egerton Ladies for a NWWFL Division 1 South fixture. Alty won the home fixture 4-1 earlier in the season as they look to back to back away wins after last weeks fine 3-1 win at Feds res.

It would be good if the results could be put into context such as what position this puts the team in.
Or maybe a table each week.

Although perhaps not the most fluid and commanding performance ever put in by the Ladies the commitment, determination and refusal to lose from 2-0 down with ten minutes remaining was, in my view, exceptional
I know lots oif groups of players who would have chucked in the towel but, despite at least three "walking wounded" the Ladies fought on right to the very end

Goals from Megan Rowley and Kate Bryan seal a battling victory for the lady robins.

Excellent Performance on a bobbly pitch.
Every player contributed significantly
Great to see Megan Rowley continue her graduation process from Juniors to Seniors with a superb performance and her first goal at open age level (arguably two but no Goal Line Technology unfortunately) and also Kate Bryan netting for the first time since returning from her travels.

Alty Ladies' manager, Keith Edleston, has kindly forwarded the latest match report on his team, from Manx correspondent Paul Hatton...
Northwich Vixens 0 Altrincham 2
Two well-taken second half goals not only secured Altrincham FC Ladies' eighth league win of the season, but also completed their second league double, defeating Northwich Vixens 2-0 at Lostock Gralam FC.
The first-half performance saw Alty, yet again, dominate but unable to convert a host of chances. Megan Rowley had an effort rebound off the crossbar, Megan Wright fashioned an opening, only to steer her shot agonisingly wide. Jade Hesketh also worked a shooting chance; her acute-angled shot was well saved when there were better options with a cut-back in the penalty area, as the match finished goal-less come the interval.
Right: Megan Wright taking on a Vixens defender.
Half-Time 0-0
On resumption, Vixens were quicker out of the blocks, Alty goalkeeper Lizzie Brereton was forced into making an impressive save and, moments later, the Robins were caught out defensively and saw the hosts narrowly steer a chance off target.
Undeterred, Altrincham worked their way back into the match, kept on pushing and probing, and they were rewarded with the opening goal on 68 minutes. Wright intercepted a free-kick, she passed to Hesketh who, with her back to goal, released an angled pass to Rowley, a player who has made her way through the youth ranks. She ran into space, unleashed an angled shot across goal and saw it nestle inside the far post for her first ever senior goal.
Alty kept on pouring forward and their second goal duly arrived on 88 minutes. Georgia Vernardakis dinked the ball into space on the right, releasing Rowley. Cutting inside, her by-line effort was pushed out by the Vixens’ goalkeeper. Kate Bryan reacted the quickest to smash her shot into the top right to secure victory.
With only two league fixtures left and results pending, Altrincham FC Ladies will finish in their highest ever league position since they were formed back in 2011

FT Bootle 6 Alty 1. A commanding win by the League Champions though the scoreline was a bit harsh on Alty. Megan Rowley scored a fine goal on 51 mins to give Alty hope a fighting back from a 3 nil.half time deficit. But a 40 yard free kick and a fine 20 yard strike helped the home complete their victory.
