Worth a tenner
-
Have a feeling either York or Boston will win it.
-
I also fancy York to win it but Alfreton at 33/1 could be a good each way bet.
-
Will have a cheeky tenner on Alty at that price...
-
Southport at 12/1 is pretty decent.
-
not sure we can win it,fancy a play off spot but at 25/1 got to have a punt. (are we having six play off spots again)
-
Brackley finished 3rd and looking at trophy final look a quality side,if they keep same side excellent chance
-
Kidderminster will be well in the mix.
-
V tough league
-
I think it'll be much more open this year - any number of teams could do well, it might be easier to predict who won't.
-
Teams change so much from season to season predicting a winner in June is difficult Kiddy have lost 4 of last seasons side already with a possibility of at least two more but they will have money to buy a couple of key signings for York will make them better Boston also, Nuneaton are up for sale with a winding up order hanging over them so maybe a reprieve for Tamworth or Gainsborough. So much up in the air at the moment

Chester have just received a £1m investment (over the next 3 years), let's hope they use it more wisely than they have done in the past...

Don't hold your breath.

They've made a hell of a lot of signings - obviously one or two Salford cast-offs. Scott Burton is a great signing in the middle of the park.
They've signed Ashton's two full backs, Smalley and Pritchard (who I thought were their best players), as well as ex-Alty CB Jon Moran, Steve Howson from Southport and a few others besides.
Unfortunately I can't see them not being in the mix. I can't stand how cocky their managers are, I really hope they fail.
-
Alfreton due a bit of a windfall from Aden Flint moving to Middlesbrough, although it looks like it's a percentage of a percentage.
-
I've never heard of a club having a recurring sell on clause? Surely once he left Swindon for Bristol City and Alfreton got their percentage of the fee for that deal that's them done?
-
When are our fixtures published ?

When are our fixtures published ?
Next Wednesday if memory serves.

That's what I used to think - but clubs tend to word the clause as 'x% of future profit' - meaning they get the same percentage again if there is another sell-on.
This all relies on each club in the chain inserting their own sell-on, which I believe is quite commonplace amongst deals now.

Win win then! Cheers for the info.

Let's say Alfreton got 10% when he went to Bristol City, and are entitled to 10% of any future profit. Swindon may be entitled to 10% of the future profit, so Alfeton would in fact get 1% of THAT profit. Each subsequent sale would further dilute Alfreton's windfall.
-
It's usually always based on profit as well, therefore if the next club in the chain sells for less than they bought, you get nothing (rather than a percentage of a percentage of the whole fee, which is what I used to think).
Duncan will be a good example of all this if/when he moves on from Sunderland.

We're out to 33/1 on William Hill.
EDIT: Managed to back this in-store, for those who prefer to bet that way.
-
still a stingy 20/1 on bet 365
-
Anyone manage to get on at 33/1? Completely gone now.
