Title: Team For Saturday
Post by: robininstockport on December 27, 2012, 02:25:28 PM
I know it will a 4-4-2 as per normal and we'll probably win but I'd like us to play a 3-4-3 just to see how it works as we'd still probably win.

        Leather   Havern  Hall

Densmore  Rodgers  Moult/Rchman/Sinnott  Doughty

       Watmore  Reeves  Clee

Where was Doughty yesterday? Ryan Brooke was terrible tracking back when he came on, not overly excited about Leather at left back neither.

Ryan Brooke is terrible at most things. Sinnott should definitely be dropped as he was awful, if Clee's fit he should start on the left with Lawrie right, if not Richman straight swop with Sinnott. Watmore has to stay number 9 for the rest of the season, if he does, we'll be up there.

I'd be surprised if Nicky recovers quickly enough from a hamstring to play on Saturday, though he might make it for New Year's Day.

Those of us on the front row of the Tom Pendry Stand (myself, Hash, and Hendos) were of the opinion that the word to describe Brooke's cameo was "languid". We were also agreed that the same word could be applied on a slightly lesser scale to Lawrie for most of the time.

If it were me selecting the Histon team, I'd go :

                                                         Coburn

Leather                         Havern                        Hall                         Doughty

Densmore                    Rodgers                     Moult                        Lawrie (unless Clee fit)

                                    Watmore                  Reeves

Subs : Reid, (Lawrie if Clee plays), Sinnott, Richman, Lacey (Brooke if Clee unfit)

                          Coburn

       Hall            Havern           Leather

Densmore                                         Doughty

           Richman                  Rogers

              Sinnott                 Moult

                           Reeves

5-2-2-1

Duncan - probably needs a rest after putting in a mighty shift on boxing day, plus he has calf stretches to do as he has grown an inch since then. No point burning out our best players against a much weaker opposition like Histon.

Clee - probably still unfit after seconds at last nights buffet dinner. his hamstring injury.

Lawrie - looked a bit weak on the left so i'd drop him. Strangely enough if Clee was fit, i'd also play Lawrie on the right and clee on the left as the two seem to complement each other. if not then we look a bit unbalanced.

As stated on another post, Jordan Sinnott needs to tuck in more centrally.

two wingback to add the width.

Richman and Rogers to give a bit of backbone to the team.
