I was reading that Altrincham got into massive amounts of debt but how much debt were you in?

Also how did we get into debt? Were we trying to do a Leeds United?

Basically we bought lots of players on credit cards and just kept tranferring the balance to new interest free credit cards, each time extending the limit slightly. We also took out loans to pay agents and have fish tanks in the directors box.

Eventually things got too much, spiralled out of control. At that point the fish tank got repossessed, we learnt to tightrope walk with boxes and consolidated our debts into one easy monthly payment with 'large body of water' finance. Now we live like saints, well within our means, and setting budgets at every turn, allowing ourselves treats, like the new turnstile block once weve saved up the old fashioned way.
