Altrincham FC are pleased to announce the emergency loan signing, till the end of the season, of left-footed central midfielder Steven Connors (born Liverpool, 5 January 1986), from Fleetwood Town. As with all such loans, after 28 days he will be subject to recall. Steve goes into Saturday's squad and, if named in the sixteen against Kettering, will be the 36th player named in a match-day squad this season. He will also become Alty's 23rd debutant of the season.
He joined Fleetwood Town in February 2009 from Bradford Park Avenue, having previously been at Witton Albion. Steve also had a brief spell at Droyslden towards the end of last year. Described on the Fleetwood website as "combative", he has picked up three yellow cards in 2(+6) appearances for Town this season. At Moss Lane he joins former team-mate Mark Beesley from Fleetwood.

He will bear squad number 18.

Three yellow cards in 2 + 6 appearances is a worryingly high ratio  !

"Good lad. Hard, uncompromising, not a skillful player more an aggressive player.
IMHO out of his depth in this league but will add steel.
Poor disciplinary record .... got sent off twice I think it was in first 3 or 4 games for us in BSN.
Good team player and popular among dressing room banter"

"Decent player when on form.Loves a tackle and get's them wrong sometimes but has improved as he was getting sent off regular when we first get him. 100 % player with half decent left foot .Mainly plays defensive midfield. Will lift spirits as he a joker off the pitch. "
